Great, Great Week!
Hey Candy Compatriots!
To say this was amazing week, would be a huge understatement! This week alone FreeCandy received coverage from Pushydreamer.com, Tokion Magazine and the NYTimes.com. I've included those links below. Most importantly, thanks to all of you, we broke the $4,000.00 mark!!! Words can't express how excited I am to see this movement develop as it has. With that said, I'd like to welcome all of our new backers. You are all part of the FreeCandy family and as such have my eternal gratitude. I want to send a special "Thank You" to Brownstoner.com, one of my favorite blogs, for making our largest contribution to date, while simultaneously spreading the word to their 4000+ followers on Twitter. I also want to thank Daniel Goldstein for his continued support and advice. Talk about community support...wow!
Tomorrow, we will hit the halfway point of the FreeCandy Campaign with exactly 40 days left. Can you believe it? Although, we've picked up major momentum, we've got a lot of ground to make up if we're going to reach our goal. But I have no doubt that together, we can not only achieve the $20K goal, but we can surpass it! The plan is very simple. Please share the vision of FreeCandy with at least three of your friends and ask them to support at the level that you contributed. That support, along with the continued campaigning efforts, will get us to our goal with flying colors. 3 people each...pretty painless, right? I hope so. :-)
Next week we will be hosting our initial FreeCandy fundraiser, as Andrea Wells, a tireless FC supporter, has graciously donated her birthday to the Candy campaign. I'll send pics from that event as soon as I have them. You're all welcome to attend. I'll send details in another message. Additionally, we are preparing for the larger September Fundraiser. I'll be send that information as it becomes solidified.
Guys, I can't be more proud of what we've accomplished to this point. I know that it is just the tip of the iceberg. Keep spreading the word about what we're doing here and about what FreeCandy will do for our Brooklyn community (even if you are as far as South Africa, Herman ;-) ). I can't thank you enough! We'll speak very soon.
Life is sweet!
P.S. Here are the links to the stories on FreeCandy. Please share on your Facebook and Twitter pages. Thanks!
