About

If We Don't Tell our Story Who Will ?

Mother and daughter are all smiles as they learn about what life was like for African American children after the Civil War.
Parents and children love to learn about African American history and culture with The Mobile Black Doll and History Exhibit.

Our Goal

Our Goal is to preserve African American history and culture and share it with people all over the world. There are so many people who want to learn more about the rich and creative history of African Americans. Unfortunately, there are only a handful of museums in major cities across the country. Our goal is to bring our mobile exhibit to the smallest of cities and towns and make this experience and information available. Our exhibit is unique because, we tell history through the eyes of a child. We have a collections of toys and historical artifacts that children love to explore and interact with. Adults love it too!

What People are Saying About Us

What your Donation Does

By helping to fund our project you will allow us to bring more of our collection out to schools, recreation centers, colleges, churches and community events. Your donation will help us purchase a cargo trailer big enough to house our current exhibits so that we can go from town to town, and not have to unpack or leave anything behind.  Patrons will be able to walk inside our mobile facility and be transported to different times and places.

You can not tell America's story without telling our story.

The Harriet Tubman doll is one of many historical dolls in the collection.

We  are committed to celebrating African American history and telling the story  of the African in America. This idea of a mobile classroom has been a dream for many years. Did you know that  most public schools in our nation do not have curriculum for African American history? Teachers are looking for unique resources and ways to educate students about African American history and ethnic studies. Many teachers are scared to teach it and do not know the information themselves. Our exhibit will provide the resources in an interactive way so schools can help educate students about African American history and culture.

We have hundreds of beautiful dolls and artifacts that tell the story of African American history and culture in America. Antique, vintage and modern artifacts make up a collection of over 500 carefully selected pieces.  We need your help to make them accessible to children and adults in the smallest towns and the big cities.

Anyone who donates will be recognized as a Legacy Founder and their name will be  engraved on a plaque that is hung inside the exhibit space forever. Anyone who donates a thousand dollars or more  will be recognized with their name painted on the outside of the exhibit trailer. Thank you so much for making this dream a reality and helping to share  our wonderful history and legacy with the world.

 What We Need

This is what we need to make it happen! Right now we use a truck, but this would allow us to display more items without unloading

Outside of trailer will be custom designed and will include the Angel donors names so that patrons will be able to see who stepped out in faith for us.

Inside of trailer will be customized  so patrons can enjoy the experience just like a museum exhibit. Donor plaque will hang inside so all patrons know who helped us get the job done!

Make Sure You Check Back!

We are adding more rewards daily!

Risks and challenges

Our goal is to have the trailer purchased in January 2020. We will also have our plaque made by end of February. We should have custom paint (wrap)completed with any Angel donors by end of April. We will update as we get more info. There really are not any risk in this project your donation simply helps us reach more with more.
