Skip Beat! Retail Release

Dear Backers,

It’s Alan, I help run Pied Piper’s social media along with various other things, and I’ll be subbing for Ann on this update.

Exactly two years ago we launched Skip Beat! On Kickstarter to right the ship after our Indiegogo campaign went off the rails. So the timing of this announcement is serendipitous to say the least. We’re ecstatic this project is moving from its crowdfunding stage to a full-on retail release.

Pre-orders are now officially open on Right Stuf Anime, and discs will be making their way into people’s homes in June! We're incredibly happy to be partnering with the awesome folks at Right Stuf to bring Kyoko’s story to a wider audience. They will be the exclusive retailer and are excited to work with us on making this release a success.

We know that you all did tremendous work as ambassadors to make this dream become a reality. We’re going to need you once more, to ensure that as many people as possible know about this wonderful title. So that Kyoko becomes the shining star we all know she deserves to be!

For Those of You Waiting on a Response from Ann

I know that after the last update a lot of you reached out to Ann in regard to missing items or getting replacements. Ann has undergone surgery for appendicitis and will be in the hospital for about five days. Please give her some time to get back to you. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Alan

@Daniel, what blows my mind is Funi can simulDUB the same day an episode drops in Japan. You get the ep beforehand to do the work, but we're talking a few days? It has to be bonkers on the production side -- that someone (or someones) get the script done is the tip of the iceberg -- which is why they've yet to do an entire season or cour like that, never mind a whole season of shows, but to do the few weeks they do for the select shows they do it for is astounding.

The fact that's it's taken you guys two years to do one series makes me so impressed at Funimation for doing ten or more series every season. I thought the only hard part was the actual dubbing but you have opened my eyes to the rest of the process also being hard, or if not hard then time-consuming.
