Skip Beat Updates + Aria Kickstarter Launch

Posted by Pied Piper, Inc. (Creator)

Dear Backers,

Skip Beat updates below, after an important announcement! I am proud to be assisting in Nozomi's Kickstarter to dub Aria The Animation! Many of you have already backed Aria - thank you! I am so excited to get to work with you again on another great release!

Nozomi's Kickstarter to dub Aria The Animation
Nozomi's Kickstarter to dub Aria The Animation

I've been working with Shawne for the past several months on the campaign tiers and campaign page, and I'll be helping with backer communication through to the completion of the project.

The campaign launched yesterday and is 38% to the $110K goal as I write this. This project is important because:

  • Aria The Animation is infectiously happy, and dubbing Aria for Blu-ray will bring more happiness into the world!
  • Shawne aka the Dark Lord at Nozomi only does great work, and everything about this release is going to be top notch - the upscale, dub, packaging, merchandise...!
  • Shawn 10000% gets that crowdfunding is about bringing supporters into the production process, including backer input for package designs and casting decisions. This campaign is going to be seriously fun!
  • If the Aria campaign is a success, Shawne can potentially use crowdfunding for dream projects with other Nozomi titles!

Let's make Aria another win!!!

Skip Beat updates:

  • The printer had to revised 3 of the templates, which set back the production schedule. I've approved all of the artwork except for the chipboard box, which requires 10 days to manufacture. We are now aiming to get the DVD/BD sets to the Righstuf warehouse by the end of this month, and to you ASAP after that.
  • 95% of the upgrade/add-on/slacker backer credit card charges have been successful, so Pied Piper has $28,350 (minus 9-10% fees) additional funds towards remaining manufacturing and shipping/fulfillment costs! Thank you!
  • Thank you everyone for your blessing to do con screenings before you get your discs!!! After discussing further with the dub team, we decided to try doing the premiere screening with one of the main cast members or dub producers. I'll keep you posted on what we are able to arrange!

I am so excited for you to get your discs and other rewards!!! Thank you as always for your patience and support!!! Ann

I have supported both this an Aria, but how much longer do we still need to keep waiting for Skip Beat? It seems like it keeps getting delayed.

Backed it a while ago. "Aria" was one of the first Nozomi sub-only licenses that really irritated me. At that time, slice of life series were my very favorite genre, so I hated seeing one go English dubless. I'm happy to put my money where my fandom is!

I backed it. I remember being at a convention where Aria was announced when it was first being released here, subtitled. I thought the Anime sounded interesting at the time, but I have problems watching subtitles,so I've never seen it, but I pledged for this version.

Something that occurred to me with the mention of the stretch goal with Aria, that goes for this one as well. I don't know if this has been asked, but when English versions of the music is done for these, do are you guys able to release those on CD or Digital. I'd love to be able to listen to the music on my phone.

I honestly want to support Aria liek i did with Skip Beat! The problem with Skip Beat for me as a European backer is that Ann wasnt allowed to ship anything outside of North America. With Aria its the problem is region A Blu ray dics.Im debating on going for the 55 dollar plegde or lower and cross my fingers that MVM (UK) re-releases Aria in BD with the new dub...

After only 1 day its already almost at 50% funded! Ann do you think when (not if) its succesful Shawn will do S2 en S3 and all the OVA's?

      Aww, come on Ann!
Seriously, you just HAD to follow up this one with one of my favorite titles of all time! And right after I worked a torturous weekend with enough extra hours to cover a backing!
Now the only question is which tier to get. God I wish I had $5000 to spare.

    9. Cliffton Marquez on

I backed it as soon as I heard about it. Also if you need any help Ann I'm here for you.
