Hey Kickstarter! We are huge fans of you and have personally backed several projects of yours as well! This is what makes us so excited to bring our little baby to you. After what has seemed like forever, we are finally here. Here to share, offer, and hopefully inspire. We want to be more than just a clothing company, we want to provoke men to seek out their potential and have fun along the way doing it. Our anchor is "Durable Goods", we want to make things that last in both design and quality.
We have many products that we will offer on our first line. These products include 3 different shirts, 2 different belt types (and each come in black, brown, or natural), customizable Key Lanyards, wrist cuffs (in 3 different colors, 3 different choices of our Wall Art you will want to frame and look at every day, and 3 different decals. There are more pictures of these items on our Facebook page. Be sure to "Like" us!
But first, let's start with our logo. After many failed attempts at the Lion & Anvil logo, we finally found the man for the job. Mike Jones (not the rapper) was able to take our simple idea and put it on paper. We are so grateful that he is now a part of our story. We told Mike we wanted this logo to be unique and have voice. We gave him a rough idea of the concept and he worked his magic. The final design embodies L&A to the fullest.
Let's start by talking about the shirts. We scoured the globe and found a winner in the Sunshine State (that’s Florida for all you deficient in state nicknames). After trial and error with other companies, we’re teaming up with the geniuses at Real Thread to bring to you our first line of shirts. They are hardcore at printing soft. Why are they so good at the softer prints? Because that’s all they do. We wouldn’t be crossing 4 state lines if this wasn't the case.
We are ordering our signature patches from Cruz Label in California. We are using 50 denier (higher end) woven labels and having them drop-shipped to the team over at Real Thread, where they’ll be given the double stitch treatment. I hear some of you grumbling "Seems like a lot just for a t-shirt", but that’s why it’s not just a t-shirt. Grab you one or four of these babies, your upper torso will never be the same. We have the logo shirt in black and in white. We also have the Monogram L&A tee in black.
Cows have given society many things: cheese, milk, manure (please do not mix), but perhaps the greatest of these has to be LEATHER. What makes our leather so special? It’s a combination of working with the right suppliers, our attention to detail, and a whole lotta love. We like a nice hardy cut of leather, but not too bulky. We want our products to last, but also be comfortable enough to wear all day. Our choice for a leather supplier is Weaver Leather up in Ohio. They are celebrating 40 years in the leather game this year and where they have thrived because of their strive for excellence. That’s why we have them cut and punch our bridle leather to our specifications. Weaver only sources their leather from two tanneries, one founded in 1881 and the other in 1937.
Our leather offerings here on Kickstarter will consist of sturdy Harness and Conway Buckle belts, Wrist Cuffs, and the Key Lanyards. Let’s start with the wrist cuffs. We like to keep it simple and strong. We’re offering a 1’ wide strap with a brass or nickel button stud, in colors of black, brown, or natural. They will age beautifully and be a faithful companion on your journey to make your mark on the world.
We are proud of our Key Lanyards, solid hardware combined with an Exotac FreeKey ring make for a keying-done-right experience. Offered in brown, black, or natural leather, with a choice of brass or nickel swivels, and solid copper or brass rivets.
Our belts and buckles could be described as the strong silent types. They prefer to let their brawn and function do the talking. Always stamped with the L&A monogram, these babies will give even the most insecure jeans or pants Bruce Lee-like confidence. This is one of the most exciting things we offer.
Let's face it, keys without a companion are like Sonny without Cher...just not good. Don't let your keys be leaderless, hook them up with one of these lanyards and sleep peacefully.
Lion & Anvil has strong roots in community involvement, and our goal is to build a community of our own. We want to be a part of your journey. Your funding will help us be able to create and distribute all of these products that we're so excited about, and help us be able to work directly within our community, showing others our vision. Be a part of our story...it won't be quite the same without you.

Risks and challenges
It is a challenge working with 2 companies in different states, however, we decided that the quality of the items outweighs the hassle.
The $6,000 goal is only covering the bare minimum, so we would be delighted to reach past it so that we have some breathing room and can produce the best products we can.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
