The Dust Settles...
...and from it, the silhouette of a fully funded project emerges. In the last week, we've made it to our goal, and then exceeded it by over 10%! Thank you to all backers, retweeters, and steadfast supporters who have helped to make this happen. After a brief pause to recuperate and collect ourselves, we're back on the clock.
Amongst the Pursuance core team's activities for the past week (celebrating, planning next steps, catching up on sleep...), we've been preparing to attend Hackers on Planet Earth (HOPE), a conference which explores different facets of hacker culture and politics. For the next three days, Barrett, Annalise, and I will be in New York City learning about other secure open source projects' best practices, meeting with activists and developers who want to help or be helped by Pursuance, and debating the security of the Hotel Pennsylvania's wifi.
Tomorrow, Barrett is going to be interviewed on HOPE's main stage by Spencer Ackerman, senior national security reporter for The Daily Beast - you can watch the interview here at 11am New York time. On Sunday, he'll be on the panel "Hacking Extradition: Fighting the Long Arm of US Law" with Courage Foundation's Nathan Fuller, activist Grace North, and security reacher and hacktivist Lauri Love - catch it here at 1pm NYC time. You can also watch any of HOPE's other fascinating talks on their livestream.
We're working on backer surveys, you should expect to receive one within the next two weeks. We're also finalizing the product designs and options for our merchandise. The tees and hoodies are going to look great, you guys.
August is going to be a busy month for us, and there's so much we can't wait to show you. We're thrilled to make the kind of progress this Kickstarter funding enables, and we're so grateful to everyone whose backing has made this possible. Thank you again. We couldn't do it without you.
