About this project
You find yourself in the distant land of Zipang, Japan. This is a place that is crumbling under the stress of military conflict, with feudal lords battling for power and ravaging all of the lands and all of the people around them in the process. In order to save this place, you must change the course of history, rewrite destiny and make a lasting impact. You will face unspeakable challenges, and war will become unavoidable.
Zipang Portable is a fast-paced “pick one, play one” card game, with stunning ukiyo-e style cards beautifully designed by Japanese artists. Players will dive into the greatest battle of the 17th century. Become Sengoku heroes, vying for the Shogun’s power in this compact, easy-to-learn, yet hard-to-master game. Play and find out.
We have come to you, Kickstarter, for help raising $9,000. This start-up capital will cover the costs of printing our game, which includes 30 character cards, 30 Mangoku coins, 2 reference cards, and a rule sheet, in addition to marketing and distribution. We appreciate your contributions. Together we will bring history to life. Thank you.
You'll find a Print and Play PDF available on BoardGameGeek.
Reviews and Awards:
"The kids and I really enjoyed this one. It’s quick, easy to learn, and has enough strategy to keep us coming back from more. I initially didn’t know what to expect from this one, and was pleasantly surprised with how good it really is."

"Not to mention, the game touts a seriously kick-ass theme and the art to bolster it. Artists Tsutomu Araki and Issey Kunogi have done a real bang-up job at creating gorgeous art that is authentic to the period and adds a beautiful polish to the game."
Review by Maurice, Club Fantasci (click here)
"This game is extremely addicting. Our game group met up to play a short game of Zipang Portable and then play something else. We ended up playing Zipang Portable over and over all afternoon!"

"Setup is simple, and players are involved in their first Campaign in no time. Although this is a pre-Kickstarter copy of the game, it still looks great! I’m looking forward to backing the campaign once it goes live!"

Risks and challenges
We understand this is our first published game and there are things we will encounter that could set us back. With that said, we want to give you complete confidence in our preparation. We have studied from the likes of Jamey Stegmaier and James Mathe, and sought the council of countless successful Kickstarter creators. We have planned out and decided to mitigate our manufacturing risk by choosing the most reliable game-printing company, WinGo, as our partner. We have already submitted files and started work on digital color proofs and white-box production samples to ensure their quality. When the campaign ends, we will be ready to simply begin production, so we expect a reasonably short turnaround. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send us a message or leave a comment.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
