Kickstarters! Our project is centered around your next super cool bermuda shorts! Plenty of colors and styles to choose from and our first 100 backers at the $100 level and above will get a free TOMI OTEE Tshirt.
We're launching our Belt & Bermuda collection for summer of 2013. We make them for ladies and gentlemen of all sizes US and European who have a tendency to dress well and like super-soft performance clothing. So just pledge and we'll make one (or more) that fits you perfectly!
But we're more than just cool shorts...
You are what you wear... which is why you’re looking for clothing that is
inspiring, stylish, and made in a responsible, sustainable way. Responsible means limiting your negative impact from the creation of a product until the end of its useful life. Nobody does this. That is the story behind TOMI OTEE. Welcome to our world and share it with your friends.
Our mission is to inspire you to have a fashionable impact on your life, a zero impact on the environment, and a positive impact on your community.
We are sports chic fashion designers. We make clothing that you can
comfortably wear and look good in while you’re doing anything from schmoozing at a fancy gallery to playing a round of golf with your
We manufacture our lifestyle pieces strictly
in the U.S. using only eco-friendly fabrics. We do this because we
believe in local production, creating jobs, supporting local
communities, and sustainable living.
Tomi Otee is unique because we also recycle textiles. We want to inspire people to reduce waste and give away their used
clothing/textiles. So we
partner with a growing number of golf courses to develop our dedicate recycling and reuse program for
clothing/textiles. In turn we give back all the profits from recycling to
charities and we create even more jobs. We call this
So what's this kickstarter campaign about?
This kickstarter campaign is first and foremost about your next bermuda shorts, about the fun and energy they will bring to your summers and how they help communities and the environment.
It's also about our values and story, and how we are expanding. We have orders from clients that we are looking to fulfill and for that we need some financing. That's why we created these amazing rewards at special prices and unique customization features.
Once the Kickstarter campaign is done we will send you the choice of colors, sizes, of bermudas and polo shirts and other rewards you have pledged for.
Part of our fabric will already be arriving, and we will be ordering the other part once the kickstarter campaign is done. This process takes from 2 to 3 months, which is rather a short period of time, only because we have already all our designs ready, suppliers lined up, fabric and dyeing tested and approved.
Check out our rewards!
Once you pledge, we will send you the form so you can let us
know your size and color. Then we'll make and deliver one (or more) chic pair of shorts to
your door in time for the summer.
Big thanks to:
Big thanks to our models: Jenny, Cindy, Carla, Benoit, Lin and Floriant. Big thanks to The Prefab Messiahs for their great songs, in particular the one we used "Desperately Happy". Get their album online now! And big thanks to Yellow Korner and Stephane, their gallery in Soho is super cool.
Risks and challenges
There is a risk that someone gets very jealous of you and your bermudas, and how they show character and goodness. We acknowledge that risk and recommend that you inspire people to back us up now.
We have a very streamline process that we control very well but all this process is very human driven, so always subject to a small mistake here and there. Not to worry, we are very big on customer service for anything like quality and order misplacement.
A month of delay is not fun, but we've been around the block so have a good handle of schedules timelines and safety cushion to deliver in time. So we will keep you informed of all the milestones we successfully achieve so that you know everything is right on schedule!
Supply origin risk:
Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Over the years, a lot of jobs have left the US in the textile industry and in fact we have a number of American suppliers that are refusing to work with us to fulfill our requests on certain accessories and advising us to find suppliers outside of the USA. For that reason, the more backers we get the better we can negotiate our supplies of sustainable fabric and US manufacturing.
