I developed this game for my kids because there is a shortage of high quality dinosaur board games. I hate the same old commercial board games with dinosaur plastered on them that have nothing to do with palaeontology. So I made my own game! my kids love it! a year and a half in, my 4 year old is now correcting my pronunciation of some new dinosaurs we've learned about.
I wrote all the questions and harassed everyone I knew for over a year to review it and play the game with me. I designed the board on my computer from scratch and sent it to be printed in china. I had the cards printed in the US so that I could focus on what I do best... building dinosaurs! I make all the reproduction fossils from my garage. They are made from original fossils, not sculpture. If all goes well, I will have add ons of extra trivia questions, harder questions and fossil expansion packs. Currently I have two expansion packs on the way. 1 set is a marine fossil pack, the other is ice age mammals. I have about 8/10 for each, but it takes time because I have to acquire fossils of the right size and shape, then make moulds of them. I also hope to be able to provide the game in more languages. Right now it is available in french and I am almost done the spanish translation.
In addition to all of that, I am working on an archaeology edition.
Risks and challenges
I have already overcome the risks. I have 500 games printed ready for shipping. I suppose Canada Post could strike though and mess up my shipping but that is something out of my control and I will have to deal with that at the time if the situation arises.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
