Dream Team card game
Tired of that smug look people get on their face when they are winning? Want to smack it off their face by taking their best cards?
Well now you can!
What is it?!?
Time for Hugs' Dream Team is a card game featuring characters and art from www.timeforhugs.com's flagship webcomic: Unconscious: The Grim Sleeper. The point of the game? Collect the 3 characters you need while stopping your opponent from collecting theirs through lighting them on fire, bribery, theft, and annoyance. The beta's of all the cards can be seen here (They have been updated since then, I have just not updated the site.)
That didn't explain anything!!
Oh... You are right bold text, I should probably elaborate. Unconscious: The Grim Sleeper is about Death's younger brother, Unconscious, and his hunt for ultimate power. What type of power does he want? Why does he want it? Why are all of his jokes puns? Why pancakes? For all of these answers and more check it out at www.timeforhugs.com
200+ comics? Ain't nobody got time for that!
Don't want to read the comic? You don't have to! In order to enjoy and play Dream Team all you need is basic literacy, a sense of humor, and 2-5 real or imaginary friends!
How do I play?
You could watch this video! Or just keep reading.
All of the rules are available for free at http://timeforhugs.com/wp/dreamteamrules, and will be constantly updated with FAQ's and updates as the game grows.
But for those of you who want a quick overview here it is
1. Draw a Dream Team card, these are the 3 characters you need to collect to win.
2. Using a hand of 5 character and power cards, steal, save, and place down characters until you have the three you need.
3. Once you have the three on the table you win!
Or you can play it as I intended
1. Draw a Dream Team card, ignore it.
2. Use you hand of 5 cards to steal, pummel, annoy, and prevent your opponents from winning.
3. You win when you annoy them so much they call you a jerk.
You have my attention, but it sounds like you have it all planned out. Why should I hand you my huge pile of digital money?
The game is done! I've played with my published deck enough to have worked out all the foreseeable bugs, and updated the look so that it is easier to play. But in order to purchase the game individually at my publishers price I would need to sell them for 20 dollars. I need kickstarter to help me raise $4000 which is enough for me to buy at the highest bulk number, 500+ units. This saves me five dollars a box, which saves you five dollars a box.
Sounds cool, but... wait... is that free stuff?
In addition to your name on the website as an awesome person, which is the equivalent to a digital hug, you also can get a bunch of neat stuff.
Every 15 dollars you back the project by gets you one of three things: 1. A Dream Team Game (including 50 character and power cards, 10 dream team cards, 4 blank cards, a basic rules sheet, and a six sided die) These blank cards allow you to make any character and power cards you want from anything you want. It is perfectly legal! If your card is overpowered there is just as much a chance your opponent will get it as you will.
2. Book 1 of Unconscious: The Grim Sleeper: The Good, the Bad, and the Itchy.
3. Book 2 of Unconscious: The Grim Sleeper: Itchy Road.
In addition to this, if you decide to get the card game, I will draw whatever you want on one of the blank cards ABSOLUTELY FREE! If you'd like me to make up more cards I'll do each additional blank card for a dollar a card.
Also, I've added some bonus rewards. A donation of 50 dollars will get your website added to the time for hugs "More Comics" Page for the rest of 2013 (Barring the fact if it is a NSFW site, I try and make my site kid friendly)
More Free Stuff
So for backing the project you are already getting an extra, unique card of your idea, your name on the website, and whatever your backing level is. But I don't think that is enough, so I'm adding Itchy to the mix. Every backer will get a free digital copy of "Itchy's descent", a special never before seen and never going to be published Itchy comic.
Risks and challenges
Guys, there is no risk or challenge. If you back it and I meet my goal, I will email you when I get the box of games in and when I send them to you. Easy as that.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
