      Hello @Out of Order Games, last communication was a month ago, just wondering if you have any updates?

    2. JohnnyD on

      Is a backer survey coming soon?

    3. Out of Order Games Creator on

      @Doctor Zaius
      Yes! Both the Police Ops deck and the distribution of police ID priorities on the district tiles have been updated and improved in the 2nd edition. All of this combines to create a more dynamic (and challenging) police AI that addresses the issues you mention that sometimes arise in the 1st edition. You can check out the full changelog here for specifics:

      A lot of time has been put into developing a more unified and immersive art direction for this 2nd edition. Great to hear that it is working for your and thanks for the kind words!

      @Andrea Balmaceda
      As soon as all components are in production, we will be looking more closely at options for translation. More soon.

    4. Doctor Zaius

      Has the police "AI" been improved over 1st edition? I've seen reviews of the 1st edition where they sometimes wind up swapping positions or getting stuck in corners, never to move out.
      Just curious if these "glitches" have been addressed.

      Excited that this funded and I'll be getting the 2nd edition. I backed the 1st edition, and enjoyed it, but I like the more consistent art direction of this, everything looks more cohesive, and the few cards that we've seen are more user-friendly.

    6. Andrea Balmaceda on

      Congrats for the success of the game! I wonder if somewhere out there could be a kind human been who may translate the instructions to spanish <3

    7. Out of Order Games Creator on

      @Felipe Barbirato
      Please note that for all post-Kickstarter pre-orders, the game itself now costs the full retail price of $60 as opposed to the Kickstarter discount of $45. So even though pre-orders currently have discounted shipping, these customers are all paying more than any Kickstrter backers.

      Congrats, comrades! Psyched for my copy!

      Hi guys! Congrates for your game ! I have good news for French backers: I just finished translating the rules :)

    10. Felipe Barbirato

      OK, thanks!

    11. Angela M. on

      Don't do the preorder, @Felipe. It's for late backers only.
      Wait until you get a backer survey by email.

    12. Felipe Barbirato

      Hi, I paid $25 for shipping to the Netherlands, but now at the pre-order I see it's at $15.

      Cheers for the heads up about there being no PM for this! Upped to full pledge just on time. Grats on a well run successful campaign!

      LOOKING GREAT EVERYONE! All stretch goals up to $85K have been unlocked and we still have 5 hours to go.

      @Brian Weisberg
      Great questions! Police Morale in Bloc by Bloc represents the confidence of the state in its campaign of counter-insurrection. When Police Morale is low, the state is afraid and timid. It is more hesitant to send in the military. When it is high, it has no doubt about its ability to crush the movement and thus, is much closer to sending in troops to quickly end the rebellion. As for your question of why liberating Public districts stops the countdown: These are the common spaces in cities that have been so important to liberate in recent uprisings. Think Tahrir square in Cairo or the central zocalo in Oaxaca city or Gezi Park in Istanbul. They don't have much strategic value in their everyday state. But when liberated by a diverse movement, they can be some of the most powerful sites of resistance. Seizing these public spaces and transforming them into hubs of the movement scares the state. And in this 2nd edition, it helps the insurrection buy time by demonstrating this collective power.

      These kinds of questions are exactly what this game is for! But it's also important to not over analyze any specific mechanic in the game. This is a quote from our recent interview with Crimethinc "Just about every mechanic in Bloc by Bloc can be understood as the intersection between some kind of strategic lesson and the necessity of balancing the game to create a stable system full of emergent potential. It’s possible to read into each of these mechanics and draw conclusions about real world insurrections. But at some point, remember, this is just a game!" You can read the full interview here:

      Thanks for taking the time to think all of this through! Hope this helps answer your questions.

      Bloc isn't currently in the top 20 on the kicktraq hotlist. Ideally we get back on that list for the last few hours to help the momentum

      @Fotios Detsis could happen :) we just done $1.5k in 1.5hrs

    21. Brian Weisberg

      Wouldn't it make more sense to have the countdown go faster as the police start to lose? You'd think if the police morale was really high, the State would figure they have the riot under control, and not rush to send in the military. I also don't understand why taking over parks and plazas stop the countdown. Also with state zones, you'd think taking those over would really accelerate the military.

    22. Fotios Detsis on

      @Rob Haworth as I love to have the upgraded box do not think is happening :(
      At least we got the mat :)

      Reckon we'll breach $100k? Tough ask, but not impossible

      Also, we're getting close to the new loot card!! Kick it up!

      So...update and confirmation on the mat? :O

      Sadly it seems that I will have to back out of this project. I want to get the game but without a pledge manager I can't justify the purchase of this and get my finances in order.

      I will definitely check out the website and pre order a copy from there later on but right now it's just not financially feasible.

      Great to see that the campaign is picking up! Let’s hope for an amazing last day!

      I got nearly 1000 views on my recap video of 1st edition, and top thumbed vid on Bloc by Bloc on BGG. Took the game to a con and ran multiple demos. And generally bugged everyone I know about it.

      Stoked this is well over the line and double stoked for the playmat. Viva la revolution comrades.

      Several days ago I created a GeekList on BGG to highlight games with great educational value to draw people's attention to Bloc by Bloc. However, the list failed to take off. Maybe some thumbs for it and the Bloc by Bloc entry would get a few more people aware of this campaign. Check it out:

      I did wait until the playmat stretch goal was viable before I pledged. This game would not make sense without it. Happy to be on board.

    34. Angela M. on

      Yeah! That crucial part of the campaign is reached - I'm really excited about that.
      And I really hope, we'll see lots of new backers now in the final hours. The game certainly deserves a great finish.

      All of the 1st edition backers have been notified with multiple emails!

      @Angelos Lampridis
      There are no specific plans for a 'competitive mode' expansion pack. However, Bloc by Bloc is a semi-cooperative game (that can also be played in fully co-op mode). If you are playing a 4 player game, you can alter the composition of the Agenda deck to ensure that all of the players will not be on the same side and to make the game more conflictual.

    37. Colm Doyle

    38. Bickwick

      !!!!! $75k !!!!!

    39. Angelos Lampridis on

      Is there a chance for a future expansion that will add a competitive mode to the game?

    40. Bickwick

      @creator have you messaged the backers of the first campaign about the upgrade? There haven't been any comments or updates on the old campaign page.

    41. Colm Doyle

      Now that it is almost certain that the fabric mat will be unlocked, it will be interesting to see how many of the 800+ backers of the original campaign will return to back for the upgrade kit.

    42. Out of Order Games Creator on

      @Angela M.
      Thanks for letting us know and very happy to have you have as one of our backers!

      @Myriam L'Abbée
      Yes! We are also very glad to see how close we are to reaching the fabric playing mat stretch goal. It's probably obvious that this 2nd edition was designed with the hope that the playing mat would be included. The only issue is that it is an expensive addition to the game's components and one that would make the entire project cost prohibitive at lower printing runs. So it made sense to set a stretch goal at the funding level that makes it possible to include the mat while keeping each copy of the game at the $45 pledge level ($60 MSRP).

    43. Myriam L'Abbée on

      I am so glad that it looks like they'll hit the $75K mark. I would be super disappointed if the mat wasn't included. It kind of elevates the game's esthetic appeal. I feel it should have always been included tbh.

    44. Angela M. on

      I just would like to throw in, that some of the (few) 1$ backers do know very well what they are doing.
      I'm going to be on a group pledge, so technically I do not need to back at all. I still want to get updates myself, though, so I put in an extra dollar to stay informed. It's well invested money I think :)

    45. Out of Order Games Creator on

      @Fyre @Kirk the Jester @Hodge @Colm Doyle @Rob Haworth
      We have pulled in over $5k in the past 24 hours so things are looking very good for hitting that stretch goal (and going beyond) in the next two days :D Cheers everyone!

      @Fotios Detsis
      You are correct! If we hit $85k, all three of the cards will be added to the game.

      @Craig Wills
      The upgrade kits will definitely include the fabric playing mat as long as we reach the $75k stretch goal

      @ Elgaetano @Justin "Vex" Brissette
      Thanks for your concern about the lack of a pledge manager. If this project was pulling in larger numbers of backers or if we were offering all types of add-ons, then it would probably be worth the extra money to utilize a pledge manager. But as things stand, Kickstarter's built in backer interface should be more than sufficient. We plan to alert the backers who have only pledged $1 on the last day of the campaign to make sure they understand (there are very few people who have done this FYI). And for those who don't feel ready to commit to backing Bloc by Bloc 2nd edition at this time, pre-orders of the game will be available on our website at the $60 retail price as soon as the Kickstarter is over. However, the $45 per game discounted price is only for all of you lovely backers :) Thanks again!

      This will smash 75k fellow Blocers!!

    47. Justin "Vex" Brissette

      I think it doesn't help that there isn't going to be a pledge manager so some people are not going to want to put there hat in with this game.

    48. Fotios Detsis on

      Too bad it seems the game can not reach the 100k stretch goal.
      By the way if it hits the 85k stretch goal gonna have all three game cards that were proposed for 120 shares at facebook?
