Hi iMpulsers!

The last 4 weeks have been more hectic than ever before here at Camp iMpulse! We normally have an update for you every 2-3 weeks, but July had every member of Team iMpulse working their ****s off to get iMpulse Controllers into your hands!

Plastics:
Thousands of plastic parts are pouring in from Team Plastics. Now that the molds are completed, they are working INCREDIBLY well, and the parts fit together perfectly and look amazing! The facility has 2 pressing machines running 24/7 to get parts completed, and Team Plastics are just screamin' along!

Assembly:
At Camp iMpulse - testing, assembly and packaging operations...

Printed Circuit Boards:
We are currently moving Printed Circuit Board construction to a new facility, also based in Los Angeles. They are equipped with VERY high-grade machines capable of managing high volume orders, and will also be able to maintain our high quality standards - check out their cool factory!

You can test your iMpulse Controller and learn what the buttons are doing with the help of iMpulsify, our cool cross-platform App. Remember, the iMpulse DOES NOT require iMpulsify in order to work with your devices - our App is just a great way to learn about what your Controller is doing, how to change modes, have easy access to supported games, and much more. Where is my iMpulse Controller?!
We hear you - you all filled out your survey, and now you're concerned that your iMpulse Controller hasn't already reached you. Why so long, you ask?

First - we have already shipped out nearly 500 Controllers. Second - we have 7500 controllers to assemble, test and ship out over the next 2 months, to countries all over the world - New Zealand to New Mexico, Norway to New Guinea! We're working hard and ramping up production as we go.  It feels great to have overcome all the obstacles of development, and now to also successfully defeat so many issues relating to assembly, production, packaging, postage, logistics, customs and customs forms, and more...!

Email Notifications:
We WILL email each of you as soon as your iMpulse Controllers are in the mail, and advise tracking information where we can (currently, USPS provides tracking info for the U.S., Canada, and also several countries, for First Class Package Mail as well).

      I havent received my Impulse like some of the rest of your backers. I pledged in on your project fairly early and am waiting for the brushed metal, blue buttons, black back i think. And the papers, etc. which are in my sons name. Do you have a ETD list we can check to see where w are on the mailing scene. I think wrve all been more than patient and making that info available to your backers would put a lot of folks minds to rest. Thanks.

      Hey guys, last update was Aug 8 and indicated a 2 month window for shipping fulfilment. So it's October now. Just wondering where you actually in the shipping process in terms of percentage complete? Sounds like more than a few of us are still waiting. An update might go a long way to settling the obvious growing impatience and concerns of backers still wondering when they might receive their rewards. Thanks.

      I got my copper hybrid monday, used it a little yesterday.. takes a little getting used to. I had some trouble with the car finder app but found i had to turn off the connection in settings for having it connected as a keyboard to get it to start pinging the device but it did work.. I'm just a little slow with it.. haven't used with any games yet but i will.

      Glad your thinking of the environment, and keeping shipping weight down, plane packaging would be ok too.

      @eric - please email us at info__att_impulsecontroller__dott_com, we aren't able to track your backer number from this post.

      @Gabriel - this only means that the shipment has cleared US Post and (if necessary) customs, and it is on its way to your country. When your country's postal system reports the tracking information to usps.com, that's when it will next be updated. It doesn't work like FedEx or UPS, because 3-4 parties are involved (2 countries postal systems plus their customs and clearing houses).

      I'm still waiting for mine since I ordered mine on 2 November. Maybe you guys at Black Powder Media can give a weekly update on the batch you're working on. Helps manage people's expectation.

      Evan, the fact that there wasn't another similar product after one year still makes the impulse controller an exciting product.

      After seeing the gold version, I whacked my head cos I should have paid $5 more to go from metal to gold so you do have bragging rights still :)

      Thanks for the quick reply. Excuse my last comment, just feeling frustrated is all. Have been looking forward to receiving and using my iMpulse Controller since last year and so, just getting really inpatient now, just tired of waiting as I'm sure a lot out there that haven't gotten their controllers yet are feeling the same way.

      So with that said, I guess all I can do is just wait for my controller to arrive. Hopefully I'll get it before the month is up.

      The only reason your shipment is held up is because you pledged for a .50 Goldfinger, and these are difficult and time-consuming to make. We have already informed backers that these particular units are delayed.
      Kickstarter is not a pre-order store, but an opportunity for both entrepreneurs and backers to create great new ideas and products which wouldn't exist otherwise. The iMpulse is very much a product of this great opportunity. By definition, we have no mechanism to refund or cancel backer pledges, because they are not pre-orders.
      That said - the few negative comments you see on these pages are outnumbered by the positive ones. The iMpulse is a cool and unique product, and you are one of the only 60 people worldwide who were able to pledge a gold-plated iMpulse.

      Is there any way I can get a refund since apparently my two iMpulse controllers haven't even shipped yet anyways? And from some other backers chiming in saying that this iMpulse controller isn't what they expected, I might as well get a refund and not waste any more time wondering when I might actually be getting my controllers.

      And you said that you're shipping to pledges dated 10/10-16/2012, well, my pledge was September 26, 2012 and I haven't even so much as received an e-mail letting me know that my controllers have shipped.

      So...please let me know how to go about getting a refund.

      Just got mine. Must say I am disappointed. No clear instruction. One key doesnt feel "right". The other a,m,w "clicks" but the v feels off.
      The cable was also a disappointment. White part is mixed with black stuff. Just over all feeling cheap. After all that hype, probably will be other gadget that will sit in a box.....

      Delivery update:
      Shipments ARE going out worldwide - our shipments are based on date of pledge, not on the location of pledger.
      We are currently shipping pledges made between Oct.10 and Oct.15. As mentioned before, some of the units such as the Full Metal and Blue LEDs were backlogged; we sent out quite a few blue LED this week. RoboCops are only slightly backlogged.
      Another round of "Welcome to iMpulse" emails will be going out tonight/tomorrow, for shipments made yesterday.

      @Black Powder Media... Today my impulse arrive to my home, in Mexico city, and when I opined the envelope, I get a really huge ssurprise, and that was no good one. In 1st place, I got a 2nd sleeve (only good thing) but when I opened the iMplulse package I really don't see the beauty controller I saw in previous photos in past updates... It looks REALLY CHEAP, with no shiny plastics, and bad ensemble with the silicon ring. The plastics at bad cuted ... Well I am really disappointed... And with the functions, it doesn't work properly with any emulators (Nesoid, Snesoid,N64oid, etc.) It has really slow respond... That's no was the controller that I was waiting for almost a year. I own some Chinese controllers which look and works a lot better... Sorry friends, but you can't start selling stuff like this, and wait that it will be a hit jut for the "Made is USA" stamp.

      @Albert, Kickstarter is NOT a store, where they can ship items you buy the next day. Technically you are not buying anything. Your pledge for the iMpulse goes towards its development, so whatever estimated delivery they mentioned is only just that, estimates. You will surely get yours so just wait.

      @Eric Lawrence - Gamekeyboard is a key remapper app that does work, you can either key remap or use the touchscreen mode, which opens up a lot of games which wouldn't otherwise work on any controller, actually.

      @Kenneth Salomon - We have posted our shipping status some days ago on the main comments page, and will continue to post to the main comments page when there are similar min-updates.

      Update comments threads (like this one) work a little strangely under KS. After some days the backer posts just stop showing up on our feed, so we have to trawl individually for backer posts - which is why our answers here are delayed.

      The secret I found to getting my Impulse to work with all my console emulators, was going into the settings of the emulator itself and key mapping all the action buttons to the keyboard keys they are already attached to. M A V and W

      Now I can play any NES, SNES, n64, etc game. Still having issues with some google play games. Keymapping programs don't seem to work, only change that works is within the emulator or game itself. Hope this helps some people.

      Got mine 2 weeks ago... Right Bumper button doesn't function, even after multiple reset attempts the button just doesn't register at all. The controller also doesn't work on any games that I've tested it on for iOS, the games think that a button is held down or something and the character just moves up/back constantly with inputs on the controller doing nothing. Strange because in the iMpulsify App it doesn't show that a button is held down. Still waiting for an email response from info@impulsecontroller.com on what I can do to correct this problem.

      Fantastic. The iMpulse has arrived. Thanks guys for your perseverance.
      I am really impressed by the look and feel of the product. And pairing it with my Galaxy Note was very easy.
      But how do I get it to work with a game ? I have tried several tonight, but then saw they were not on the "supported" list. So I installed GrannySmith (free) again, but couldn't find out what I needed to do to make it control the game.
      The instructions at http://my.impulsecontroller.com/ are looking very cool, but they didn't help me with that. and the page support.impulsecontroller.com doesn't seem to exist yet.

      Just one thing. You replied to my original comment about when I'd be seeing my iMpulse controllers in the mail on Aug 8. From that date you mentioned that you expect to ship my iMpulse controllers within 10 days. It's now 15 days after that last reply and haven't yet seen any e-mail about shipment yet. Please let me know when I should expect an e-mail containing shipment notification. Just getting a little concerned is all.

      In my email, I don't have a Backer Certificate, pledge #, or customer ID, but I have an email stating that I am a backer and my CC has been charged.
