Grammy-nominated indie rock band After Edmund is about to make their second album and they need your help!
Thank you so much for checking out our project. However you got here, whether from a Facebook post, reading it on a blog or seeing someone’s tweet, we want to thank you for taking a second to take a look at this project.
Before we give you the details about what’s happening we’d like to give you a quick idea of who we are and where we’re coming from.
We are After Edmund!
Our first full length record was released in 2006 and we saw some amazing success from it. Back then we were sign to a record label and had the backing of a large company helping to move us forward.
A lot of things have changed since then. We made the decision to walk away from that record label and now we've signed to a new management company.
In the past year alone we've toured all across the country, put out two separate EP’s, and released a viral video on Youtube. All of that with only the support of our friends, our families and our fans.
Recently we've been putting a lot of thought into our futures, trying to formulate a plan for our band. We've had a lot of crazy ideas (like building our own spaceship, or moving to Japan) but we’ve narrowed it down to one thing.
We are going to record our second full length album.
That’s right, people of earth. After Edmund is finally going to do it.
With your help and with the help of our fans we are going to raise $28, 750 dollars to cover the cost of making this thing happen.
And best of all… we’re going to do it in 30 days.
Are you freaking out!? We are too. So we’ve come up with a list of reasons why we’re doing this:
#1 To allow you, the fans, to be a part of this. After Edmund is as much yours as it ours, so we’re letting everybody be a part of it.
#2 Because it’s been way too long since our last record came out. I mean… EPs are great. But 3 of them between albums? We’re definitely due for a full length record.
#3 And last of all because records are expensive. We feel that as a band we’ve been doing this for too long to not make this one the best freaking record ever.
Don’t know what Kickstarter is? Let us tell you.
We have set up this webpage to allow you to donate money to help make this record. We have set a goal of raising $28, 750 dollars by midnight on Feb. 24. If the fundraising goal is not met by that deadline, we receive none of the money and all the donations are returned.
One of the great things about Kickstarter is that we get the chance to give you something in return for your donations and to allow us to say thank you for being a part of this.
We've set up some incentives for you guys so that whatever amount you give you will receive something awesome in return. The backers of this kickstarter project will be the first people to receive our album, and even the lowest support level of only ten dollars with still get you a digital copy, as well as a couple other surprises sent to your inbox as soon as the record is finished.
We've gotten pretty creative with these rewards too. Do you want your own futurebass like Mitch uses on stage? BOOM, you got it. Or maybe you’ve seen us live and now find yourself wanting to dress like a peppermint farmer… now you can!
Not only that, but every person who donates $25 or more to make this record happen is going to get their name in the credits of the album. FOR REAL!!!
Along with our plans to be in the studio over the couple months, there are a lot of other parts of this record to consider. We need to take care of mixing, mastering, artwork, photography, and a couple other things, as well as creating the actual physical CDs. This is mainly why we have landed on the amount of money that we are trying to raise.
Our first record actually cost more that double how much we are trying to raise with this campaign, so we've made a lot of effort to bring costs down this time around. If you are interested in reading our entire budget for this record you can check it in the FAQ section at the bottom of this page.
So what do we need from you? We need you guys to be right there with us, every step of the way. We need you guys to post this campaign to everybody’s facebook walls, to tweet about it, share it and tell your all of your friends. We need you guys to donate and most of all… we need you guys to pray!
Thank you guys so much for reading through this and for wanting to be a part of this with us.
You are amazing and we love you.

At this point we have around 40 songs completed and in demo form. Between 10 and 12 of the best ones will make it onto the record.
Kickstarter backers will be the first people who get the album when it comes out.
When the campaign is completed we will contact you via email. You will have a certain length of time to respond to us and confirm things like sizes, shipping details, scheduling etc.
2 of shirts are medium, 2 of them are small.
We are planning to be done recording in April and to have the rest of production done by June. All incentives that include a copy of the album will ship soon after that date. Certain aspects of incentives (i.e. concerts, video chat) will be scheduled and fulfilled as soon as possible
Yes. Many reputable artists and organizations have worked with Kickstarter in the past and they have a reliable reputation. If you have specific questions please refer to: http://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/backing%20a%20project
Here is a breakdown of our budget for this record:
Production - $15,000 (This number is comprised mainly of studio time and fees for producers)
Mixing - $4,250
Mastering - $4,000
Pressing - $1,500
Production Accommodations - $1000
Art - $1,000
Photography - $1000
Web design - $1000
Scheduling for this will be determined by After Edmund’s concert schedule throughout March, April & May. Studio will be located in either Nashville, TN or Atlanta, GA. Transportation to either of those cities is your responsibility, though we will do our best to be convenient for you.
Scheduling for acoustic concert will be based on concert routing throughout spring and summer months. We will do our best to make this happen as soon as possible. There is no time limit on this incentive.
Scheduling for concert will be based on concert routing throughout spring and summer months. We will do our best to make this happen as soon as possible. There is no time limit on this incentive. Certain technical requirements (proper venue, audio & power requirements etc.) may need to be advanced with our management before agreeing to an event.
As a band we made the choice to lower the official Kickstarter goal based off of our research into other successful campaigns. That being said, our financial goal for this campaign is still 28, 750. We see it as a way to minimize the likelihood of failure, and to give you guys a chance to help us succeed far past where the bar has been set.
Yes. Although there may be the odd circumstance where there is nothing we can do about it (private events, broadcasted performances etc.). We're not anticipating many of those though...
No, Kickstarter will only allow each backer to pledge to one incentive.
That being said, if you were to send us a message to let us know that you are interested two different incentives, we may message you back and say 'If you donate $650 to the $500 tier, we give give you the rewards for the $500 incentive and the $150 incentive."
At the time of transaction your credit card must be valid for the total value of whatever incentive you are backing. Though if you wish to contribute some now and some later, one option you might have would be to, for example, contribute $25 for the $25 tier, then add an extra $50 later on and bump yourself up to the $75 tier.
