I wander the quiet night, observing what light and shadow simultaneously reveal and conceal. An obscure sense of time suspended imbues each moment with a heightened sense of clarity.
I have been working on Crystal Silence for well over a year, gathering these images as time has permitted between my other projects and obligations. This Autumn, however, I am dedicating 2 months solely to completing this series. As I realize that Crystal Silence will be most compelling if shot in a wide variety of settings, I will use this time to slowly drive across the United States, my nights devoted to seeking and photographing Crystal Silence. Having learned that these moments of contrasting light and shadow are most readily found on the edges of smaller towns and cities, away from busy light-filled areas, I plan to travel the back roads avoiding major population centers.
Your support here on Kickstarter will help finance my travel and photography expenses – including the costs of food, lodging and gasoline, along with other various needs.
Listed to the right are the Rewards you will receive for various levels of support. I will personally craft all of the archival limited-edition signed prints. Please note that the contribution levels for the print Rewards here on Kickstarter are much lower than these prints would cost in any gallery.
Thank you for taking the time to visit Crystal Silence here on Kickstarter and thank you for your support.

For all pledges of $150 and above you will received an editioned archival print. The edition is the maximum number of prints made from any single image at a particular size. Here are the edition limits for the various sizes:
5" x 8.5" - 50
10" x 17" - 25
20" x 34 - 10
After Jim Vecchi finishes photographing for Crystal Silence, he will make a final edit of the images to decide which will be included in the final project. He will then post these images to his website. At this time you will receive email notification and asked to select which image(s) you would like as your reward.
