A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
After several months of design, research and development, we are pleased to introduce you,
our idea of pen...ADA
The inspiration of form comes directly from nature, and by its use of hexagonal shape, equipped with unique features such as bee hives, and aesthetic validity such as crystals.
MULTIGRIP SHAPE - GENESIS
The geometric deformation applied to the pure hex allowed to obtain a MULTIGRIP ergonomy that can satisfy the singular handle characteristics of each individual.
A capless pen, with a particular and innovative magnetic contact mechanism which is the result of the perfect balance between the action of the magnet and the spring reaction, with a "core" of permanent neodymium.
The metal from which it is made, aeronautical grade aluminium, and the particular geometry, offer more than a sensory experience:
At sight... it always looks different, at every glance, with every variation of light, with its over 40 faces all different, with its prismatic tip, unique and seamless with the body. Always herself, always different.
Hearing ... will be stimulated by the uniqueness of sound produced by magnetic contact between metals.
The touch... will enjoy a sophisticated satin finish, extremely pleasing, as well as functional to the grip; moreover, there will be thermal stimuli, by environmental variations.
You will also have the "taste" to use it, to see it, or simply to act it as a trick... tireless.
The shaft twist, that generate the low poly ergonomic geometry, combined with perfect balance of masses, allows for fluidity in writing and at the same time a high precision of the sign.
Obtained for machining from full bar of aircraft grade aluminium, through CNC milling process, one by one, handmade finished, assembled and tested.
Over 40 unique faces...infinite edges of light.
The ...crack of the body, which disappears in the write position, conceptually means a discontinuity with the stereotyped tubular design applied to most writing tools.
Seamless prismatic tip ever made before...ADA
The internal magnet offers the ability to attach the pen to any iron metal surface, to attach it to each other, or to attract metallic bodies such as paper clips or pins.
ADA pen, accept ever G2 Parker-style refill, which are marketed with the most varied types of ink and technology, so as to cover every possible choice of stroke, color and smoothness.
You can easily choose for your pleasure, after when you'll need it, an ink refill, traditional or gel, pressurized or hybrid ... and more and more, truly the widest selection of ink on the ballpoint market.
COLORS & REWARDS
NO LOGO IS YOUR PEN
We have decided not to mark our pen with any logo, first, because she is unique and unmistakable, then because this is for us the maximum of personalization. No logo is your pen!
Given that everything that has been produced for the project and for
this campaign (mock-ups, prototypes, videos, photos, texts, web and social media, and more)
has proudly been made with only our strength, the one of our dear friends, and thanks to a giant deal of passion and dedication,
as well as a considerable personal financial and time investment, we cannot be more proud of the result.
This Kickstarter campaign represents for us not only a chance of breaking
with traditional methods (loans, investments, sector offers, sponsor research), but also a giant opportunity
to discover that we are able to offer significant added value with our own products and without an intermediary forcing the product line and the conditions.
For you, instead, Kickstarter is the tool that allows you to enter directly in
contact with the project, from an embryonic state up to the realization of the product,
making you an active participant of our journey, as well as positively aware of the fact that without your help the project
would have had no way of becoming a reality.
For you specifically in this campaign, there is also the opportunity to have
a unique object that will last forever, at an exclusive 40-50% discounted price from the official sale price, and shipments almost at our expense.
Starting from the risks, we can easily affirm that we have worried about evaluating almost all the critical points, developing and engineering our idea so that we reach the desired production in the short term.
Here we are not only asking you to be invested in a design idea to be developed, but to allow us to deliver a physical result in a short time span, a real product already working and extensively tested during the previous months.
We personally use and have made use of the pre-series products that you have seen in the campaign, appreciating and evaluating their characteristics, peculiarities and the details on which to intervene to improve the final product.
The production chain has been optimized and entrusted to two entities, operating in Rome, which will deal with machining, assembling and quality control, with which we have a face to face relationship, so as to optimize the process management, plus, few foreign suppliers, European and US, of proven reliability, which will provide magnets, refills and springs.
This in order to create a truly and proudly "Made in Italy" product design, of undisputed quality and workmanship, made to last forever.
So we are ready, and here we have come to the "challenge", that is, to realistically and concretely start and support a production in Italy, with the costs, alas, and the benefits that such a choice entails today.
Well, we really need your help to face this challenge and turn a dream in a drawer into a reality on the desk.
