Sound Design and Score

First, I would like to wish all of our dedicated backers a happy and healthy New Year! I hope that 2012 is prosperous and enjoyable for each of you and your loved ones!

As 2011 melded into 2012, Midway underwent many significant transformations. The edit and rhythm was enhanced through some tightening and trimming while sound designer/composer Lucy Sheils began conceptualizing and experimenting with effects, motifs, and melodies. With the new edit delivered to sound, things are sure to progress rather quickly. In fact, in a meeting this past Friday, Lucy played a preliminary sample of her ideas for the opening of the film and she is,without a doubt, moving in the right direction. I can't wait to hear what she has created as we push on.

Postproduction is a busy time for a project because the film is undergoing several processes at once. Simultaneous to the development of sound design, I will be color correcting the images in the film, promotional materials will be in development and editing changes may still occur as we bring everything together step by step. Midway seems to be picking up speed in several ways and I couldn't be more excited to be approaching our finished film.

Things to look forward to:

~ The announcement of our Midway Mystery Box winners.

~ Before-and-after stills of color-corrected frames.

~ Behind the scenes footage from our Carnival shoot.

~ Stills illustrating the progression of poster designs.

~ Also, incentive packages are in the works!

I hope you enjoy the new production stills!
