Share Your Ogre Fun!

If you are snapping photos of your Ogre Designer's Edition please post those pics to the Ogre page at BGG. Everyone out there loves photos of games -- or is that just me? -- and sharing your pics on BGG is a great way to let the rest of the world see just how much insane fun is hiding inside each giant box.

To jump straight to the photo madness here's the Ogre image gallery on BGG. This canvas bag photo is especially fun. I suspect that bag will be very popular once we release the extras for sale.

Mine arrived at my door in western New York yesterday afternoon. The descriptions just don't do justice to the epicness of this game. I spent several hours just popping out counters and putting together the 3-D counters. I can't wait to sit down and actually play it. I haven't been this excited over a game since I was in High School. I love it. I got the whole game + swag package, so I got to wear my "Ogre Supporter 2012" shirt while I unpacked and organized my Ogre game counters and then got to carry it off in the gigantic Ogre tote bag to store in the game closet. It was so awesome and made me feel like a kid again. My only complaint about any of it isn't really a complaint so much as a touch of confusion. Wasn't there supposed to be a set Combine and Paneuropean lapel pins included with the swag?

Ogre arrived in East Yorkshire! What a fantastic package. We've already had a couple of hours of fun assembling the game pieces and filling the box up. Should have time for a first game on Sunday.
Thanks for all the effort, care and love that have gone into making this. Now I just need to find somewhere for it to live!

Just a few words to let you guys at SJGames that we appreciate what you guys are doing. This is truly a once in a lifetime game moment. When will any of us ever have a box bigger than this in game collection? Larger game boards? And who knows what user created content is going to be out there with all of the additional counter sets. (Come on uncommon ogres and BGG content!)

That's just insane. You guys are great.

Thank you Steve and everyone else there.

@Philip: Found the Read it First sheet shortly after posting that, I wasn't expecting it to be that big (though given the game I'm not sure why). Email sent. Thanks.

Well is says over a hundred Ogres are coming to Michigan, it would be nice to find the players, none are on the game finder... Ah well I have family and friends that will gladly play as long as I bribe them with take out or Chili

    6. Philip Reed
      on November 14, 2013

@Rob Farley - The back of your box should have a large sheet of paper that's a copy of the box back on one side and the read me on the other. And the garages are meant to be different. Please email for a replacement.

    7. Rob Farley on November 14, 2013

Mine arrived today, somewhat ironically I seem to be missing the "read this first" sheet.

Also, are the 2 Ogre garages meant to be identical? I thought they should be different and I don't have anywhere to put some of the units.

@Anssi Salakka one of Tormented dudes - I keep telling everyone that photos and seeing the game in person don't do it justice. You have to hold the game to really appreciate the size.

My Ogre just arrived, damn it is huge! I didn't get any shipping confirmation either, just call from UPS driver about 20 minutes before he was at my apartment.

I must start search for bigger apartment, if I am planning to play this game. :)

      my location: Helsinki, Finland, EU.

      on November 14, 2013

I didn't get an official shipping confirmation, but a 28 pounder showed up on My Fedex yesterday afternoon, followed by a 3.8 or so last night... Due to arrive Monday in PA! Yay! :)

    13. Poi on November 14, 2013

Some minor map corner scrunching, and one of the Ogre garages has a small hole (looks like the plastic was thin, or the mould too hot). Can't decide if it's enough to ask for replacements.

    14. Philip Reed
      on November 14, 2013

@Christopher Lewis - We will have to check with Brandon to find out exactly what the map shows. I _think_ it is shipments from Austin to the world, so that would mean European swag. But Brandon knows exactly how Europe is represented on the map.

Eric Dow, thanks! I bet one of those was mine. Did they go priority or space A? (just so I can calculate when to expect it, lol.)

    17. Eric Dow on November 14, 2013

As Phil said, if you are in a state that's done , and you don't have a tracking number, EMAIL us :) The process is Highly manual, and we have to cut and paste between 2 screens. If we miss the paste, you miss the email from FedEx. We've done over 3000 so far, and I'm certain I missed a few. That said, I'm sorry for those waiting, and I can tell you we are doing everything we can to hurry, but we also want as few defects as we can too. I stuffed 15 copies in my Jetta Wagon today to get some of our servicemen over sea's their copies without slowing our progress at the OLF. I probably could have gotten a few more, but I didn't want Devon strapped to the roof.

Also note, the map isn't real time. It is a manual update the Brandon has been doing. Very cool, but I know of at least 50 more done than it shows :)

So close. My Ogre is in Sydney, but it's been held up in Customs. :-(

    21. Zoe Brain on November 13, 2013

      ACT Australia - shipped 2, remaining 5. That's more than 1 per 50,000 people.
I had no idea there were so many other Ogre aficionados in the city.
I'm just imagining a display game with 7 sets....

    22. Chris Vermeers on November 13, 2013

Hm. SJG, you might want to take a look, as for some reason the map has N. Ireland right next to Bedfordshire (Beds). I suspect that this may be in error.

    23. Chris Vermeers on November 13, 2013

And, to add to that, I think that the reason there are two pages for Cambridgeshire is that one is listed as "CAMBS" (1 copy remaining to ship), and one as "Cambridgeshire" (3 copies remaining to ship).

    24. Chris Vermeers on November 13, 2013

Rob Farley: I'm looking at CAMBS, and I see two pages (which may be the "1 of 2" you're seeing). On those two pages, it lists a total of 4, none of which have shipped as yet.

    25. Ryan on November 13, 2013

Only 12 of us ordered it in WV? Crazy!

    26. Dan Spezzano on November 13, 2013

How about just saying the order of the remaining states so I can stop reading these updates. Illinois getting no love :(

So it's 50:50 whether or not my copy has already shipped (but not got here yet) or is still to come.

Somehow that's worse than not knowing at all.

    47. Royce Day on November 13, 2013

It was a nice thought, to ship to places that take longer to arrive first, but if it's going to take longer to get to the nearer states than the entire shipping time to the coasts, random would have been a lot more fair. (Actually, order of pledge would have been better, either by date or dollar.)

I remind myself that I jumped in on this because of your game design, not your logistics...
