2,683 Ogres to Go!

Today we add these states to the "completely shipped" list: Alaska, California, South Carolina, and New Jersey. These four join the previously completed states to leave a reported 2,683 shipments to go. And some of that 2,683 include the games Pegasus is shipping in Europe, so our own staff have now worked through roughly half of the games they're tasked with getting out to all of you.

Oregon and Georgia are both close to done, with only a few holds remaining in each state. If you live in Oregon or Georgia, and you do not yet have a tracking number (or your game), please check your email for messages because we may be waiting to clarify information with you before we ship your box(es).

A second shipping line was opened last week and we're expecting to see the rate of games leaving the building increase this week. Fingers crossed!

Remember, if you're in any of the states we have completed and you do not have your game and/or tracking number please contact us -- -- and we'll try to figure out where your game is hiding.

European Ogres!

We've received confirmation that Pegasus has started processing the Ogre Designer's Edition. No details beyond this at the moment . . . watch the horizon for incoming awesome!

Did your game arrive damaged? So far the damage reports have been minimal -- especially considering the volume of materials involved -- and we're thankful for that. It looks like all of the effort we put into the game's packaging is paying off. Whew!

If you were unlucky, though, and your game did suffer some damage in the shipping process then please contact us immediately -- -- so we can take care of everything for you. This includes damaged or missing components, so please examine your game carefully and contact us right away if something is wrong. We have a limited number of extra components and want to be sure that all of you get everything in good condition before we start selling the extras.

Still nothing in Texas. Would it be faster to come pick it up myself?

I guess that means pegasus are not following the "longest route first" thing, or maybe theyre already done with all the foreign shipments and my box is in customs :P (i am in norway)

I just received a phonecall from the wife, "What is Steve Jackson Games?".
"Oh cool! My copy of Ogre arrived!"
      "What is it?"
      "It's a board game..."
"*censored* - a boardgame, it's HUGE and really heavy! The box is as big as my monitor box!"
*beaming* "Yes, that sounds about right"

      Yay! Thanks! :)

This is still hearsay/unconfirmed, but according to my roommate, "two heavy boxes" just arrived for me here in Munich, Germany via UPS. Seeing as the only other package i'm expecting is a case for my phone, they "must" be my Ogres :).

I live in Australia - I don't care when I receive my game - as long as it's before anyone in New Zealand!

I think by backer number is a bit better of a solution. Sure someone is always going to be last but at least there is logic to that solution. I just assumed the shipping pattern was thematic. Ogres hit the beaches then roll inland.

I wouldn't stress too much about it Steve. No matter which system you use to do the shipping some people are still going to complain. I'm just glad that things are progressing and we're getting closer to the humongous box appearing at my office.

I think it's pretty clear that our (my) plan to ship by areas was NOT the best idea I have ever had. Give Phil points for trying to talk me out of it after we had started, but I felt that staying the course would let us get finished faster than changing the order again. And in fact, I still think that - changing plans in the middle is a recipe for making any situation worse - but I also wish we'd started off a different way.

There will be lots of time before Car Wars to talk about a better heuristic, but I'd lean toward shipping:

      (1) All backers above a certain humongous level, in the order that they backed, and

      (2) Everyone else who backed, in the order that they backed.

That way, we could publish, each day, that backer number that we had reached, and you would know EXACTLY when your number was coming up.

Live and learn. And admit your mistakes so the next guy won't have to make them himself.

      -Steve J.

Overseas backers last again it appears :-( It seems to be a trend in many KS projects. Funny as I was not the last person to back this KS but I expect I will be the last to receive my OGRE DE. I suppose thats the rub when you live in New Zealand (Its located at the bottom left hand side of the Pacific Ocean in case you other backers didn't know).

Ok, possibly silly question but I don't recall when the Canadian Shipments were supposed to go out. I sent my phone number like I was supposed to, but I haven't received any tracker...

@ldjessee I'm pretty sure with the way they decided to do shipping us folks in the middle of the country will be dead last. I'm not expecting mint until middle of December

Please be sure to include your phone number if you contact us about damages. Thanks! -Brandon

I wish you had a website that had the states and countries with a set of numbers in it showing shipped parcels / total parcels. That way we could check ourselves and focus on our state or country. Then these updates could be directing people to this website. Also put a FAQ there. Lessons to learn for the CarWars Kickstarter!
Just waiting here in Indiana, hoping to see mine before Thanksgiving, but have a feeling it won't make it by then (no tracking number yet).

All these updates do is remind me that SJG hates the middle of our country :)

Nathan, I'm guessing APO AP addresses ship with Cali, but APO AE makes sense if they ship with NY, so I'm rooting for NY to finish soon personally... I just hope it doesn't go parcel post, that stuff is slow this time of year, and I think for some reason there is already a 3 week delay on parcel post for packages coming out this way...

In California here, arrived last week. Looks like the carton was dropped about 2-3 feet with very minor damage to the box, less to the tray, and a slight smush on one of the GEV maps.

Considering that I'm as likely to accidentally "throw it down the stairs" in transit some day, I couldn't be more pleased.

I'm also ecstatic it arrived before monsoon season started.

It was worth the wait, thank you.
