I don't think this is as big as Drang Nach Osten!, but it's at least fun to play. ;-)

      @Thomas Smith -

The largest game I own is GDW's Drang Nach Osten! published in 1973 - it has 20 square feet of map that is needed to play the basic game and literally thousands of unit counters.

    3. Brian Rayburn on

@Kevin- one of your earlier posts mentioned a link, and I just now realized it was in a post before that. The pics look great!

    4. Kevin McCarthy on

@Brian - Thanks! I should have done the non-sponsor sheets first, then I'd have more fencers too.

      What photos do you want?

    5. Brian Rayburn on

@Kevin McCarthy- sheets F1 and F2 each have a Mk II on them, plus three more on the flat counter sheet. Not sure about any of the sponsor sheets though. Any timeline on when those photos might be up?

    6. Thomas Smith on

Is there a world record for "largest production tabletop game"? Need to look into it.

    7. Thomas Smith on

Well I brought a friend, Got my game, got the cover signed (You look like you need some rest Steve) and punched and assembled all the sheets, there's BARELY enough room for existing sheets, not much to spare for extras. Next edition you need to make MIM steel ogre miniatures and a tungsten steel lockbox. I bought all the Ogre stuff available at the event but feel bad because the amount in the "basic" set is so huge it's not needed, though I look forward to the scenarios, and playing the BGG Daikaiju.

    8. Kevin McCarthy on

And I just added some more photos of the assembly process (Facebook link below). I've got about 9 inches of unpunched sheets and I'm pretty much out of room in the box. Oh, I could throw stuff on top, but my OCD won't let me.

    9. Kevin McCarthy on

Does anyone know what sheets have the Mark II Ogres?

    10. Brian Rayburn on

@Jeff Leggett- shipping starts Monday October 21st. The current very rough estimate is that it will take *at least* a couple of weeks to get everything out.

@Leah Watts- Don't give them any ideas!

That final picture is just begging to be turned into John Kovalic artwork.

Any chance this ships to the rest of us this week? Would love to show it off at Game Fest South this weekend

    13. Justin Gramm

That looks like a LOT of fun! I really wish I could have been there. You guys enjoy the fruits of your labor this weekend, you've earned it. Besides, I'm sure you'll need that extra shot of energy from seeing everyone enjoying the game to get through the shipping monstrosity that is about to start. So excited to be so close to getting my copy!

    14. sgbeal on

The tragedy is that i grew up not far from there (in Houston) and my father lives only a few miles away, and yet here i sit on the other side of the globe. i have never regretted leaving Houston 16 years ago... until now!

And if you plop a question mark at the end of my below post it might even make sense.

Who got the distance award for traveling to the launch party.

Thank you for sharing images, and congrats to those KS backers who were able to attend the event. I have my own event planned when I get mine. Chinese take out, my 26year old son, and a day together playing Ogre, I won't miss that event for anything. :)

    18. Royce Day on

@Kevin. Thanks for the additional photos!

    19. Royce Day on

WIsh I could have been there, but there was no way I could have driven from Maryland to Austin to pick up my copy. I'll take heart in my name being close to the top alphabetically when shipping starts. :)

Not sure which is creepier. ;) My Little Pony in command of an Ogre or someone giving birth in an Ogre box (guess that means the little tyke will be named Bam-Bam, right?).

Love the people who bitch about the fairness of this lol.. you know what is unfair.. I live in Portland.. No Chance of going to that party that is unfair.. Can't wait for my ogre to show up! hope everyone had a blast at the party wish I was there!

This is a launch party at which kickstarter backers could register to attend and pick up their copies. Its been the subject of most of the recent updates for a while.

    24. Nostradunwhich

Nice party, SJ +Crew! Wish I could have been there.

For those complaining about people "getting theirs first" you should have read all the updates for the kickstarter. All the info was there.

    25. Bruce M on

I think it's only demo copies as I have not had a shipping update. I guess we just have to keep on waiting :-(

    26. KevinR

As was announced several months ago, shipping will begin on Monday. The folks who picked up games today are all Kickstarter backers as well.

    27. K.C. Skedzielewski on

Did I miss an update saying shopping had begun? Or what's up with's really kind of unfair to not even start shipping, yet show other people getting their copies...

    28. Kevin McCarthy on

      Epic launch party was epic. I was among the first to get the game and I pretty much just stared at everything for an hour before just breaking out enough to play the basic game. Here's my pictures;

I am so jealous I could plotz.

...I just plotzed. Are you happy now!?

My little pony and an ogre? The friendship is tragic.
