You’ve read updates talking about how the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game and Dungeon Fantasy GM Screen are in the manufacturing process and looking great. What about all the other stuff we promised? I have news on that . . .
All three stretch-goal PDFs are in prepress, meaning we are happy with the text and art, and just making sure they’ll be good to go when we release the game this autumn. To jog your memory, this means Dungeon Fantasy Traps (by Jason “PK” Levine and Christopher R. Rice), Dungeon Fantasy Magic Items (by Peter V. Dell’Orto), and Dungeon Fantasy: Against the Rat-Men (by Matt Riggsby). For those who missed it, Against the Rat-Men is the second dungeon; it follows I Smell a Rat, the adventure in the box, to form a sort of mini-campaign.
Having those three projects done meant we were able to get the Dungeon Fantasy Companion into prepress, too. That add-on is a softback compilation of the stretch-goal PDFs. It will definitely be ready for release at the same time as the game.
But wait, there’s more! We also put the final touches on Pyramid #3/104: Dungeon Fantasy, the first of three Pyramid issues dedicated to the game. That comes out today (June 22) and offers sneak peeks: pictures of game components (books, figures, and maps) and the screen, a sample delver on a Dungeon Fantasy character sheet, quotes from the pregenerated heroes in the game’s Adventurers book and screen’s Delvers To Go! booklet, and a ton of name-dropping.
So . . . we’re mostly waiting on printing. Updates between now and then will bring news of how that’s going. In the meantime, we have another two issues of Pyramid to get ready, with ETAs in August and October.
