Magic Items PDF and New Stretch Goals!

Posted by Philip Reed (Collaborator)

We're now less than $700 from unlocking the Magic Items PDF for all project supporters pledging $50 or more to the project. That means the last two of the stretch goals first announced are close to being met.

Now that we're in the final days of the project and so close to unlocking that third PDF, it is time that we share the last of the project's stretch goals.

These three stretch goals both meet a request (the custom eye-in-the-pyramid dice) and give all supporters a "Welcome to the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game" issue of Pyramid magazine as well as expanded Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game support for Pyramid subscribers.

These two stretch goals -- the last of the project, regardless of final funding level -- both provide more physical rewards and lead to the creation of a fourth Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game PDF. What's the fourth PDF? Well, we'll let Sean describe the possibilities:

  • Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game: Level-Ups and Power-Ups • The savvy gamer knows you might lose your stuff but you can always count on yourself. After a couple of adventures, the players will want to unlock more abilities – maybe even mix professions! Here are a couple of pages of new tricks for members of each profession. • 25 pages.
  • Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game: Town Adventures • While delvers spend most of their time in the dungeon, they occasionally return to town to trade and receive quests. Here’s some advice on making those visits interesting, whether that means breathing new life into the ol’ tavern or joining a guild. • 15 pages.

And yes, if this last stretch goal is unlocked we will include the contents of this final PDF in the Dungeon Fantasy Companion printed book. Please leave a comment, below, telling us which of the two potential PDFs you most want. If we unlock this final stretch goal, then we'll tally your votes at that time and announce a winner.

Thanks for your continued support and encouragement as we enter the last days of the project. As always, please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions at all.

Level Ups! Who adventures in Town anyway?

Level-Ups sounds a lot like a combination of DF3's Mixing Professions and DF 11: Power-Ups. I vote for Town Adventures!

Both sound good, but I suppose I'd prefer Level Up.

Town adventures, because we don't have it yet.

While I have little faith we'll get to this level, Town Adventures. If I had $1,986 to pledge, I'd do it just to get Town Adventures.

      I vote for Town Adventures.

      Level-Ups and Power Ups, please.

      I'll vote for Town Adventures.

Also, for the $187.5K stretch goal, will we have the option to get regular (readable) dice instead of dice with the logo? I never use logo dice, and neither do any of the other players at my tables, so this is a stretch goal that I don't want.

(And yes, I have plenty of dice of my own, but I'd still rather see the game come with regular dice instead of logo dice.)
