Adventures in Killing the Radio Star
This film is an exploration & celebration of the changing face of independent music told by the those in the biz,the supporters & bands
The Rock God ideal of "sex, drugs, & rock n roll" is an antiquated notion. For today’s independent musician, touring, internet presence and publicity are more important than ever. This film is an exploration and celebration of the changing face of independent music told by the enthusiasts, supporters & hard-working musicians keeping it alive.
Festivals are the new billboards announcing hot new bands. Distribution is shifting from hard copies to the internet. The number of small media & publicity outlets and the community of artists supporting each other has grown astronomically. There is a rising sea of amazing music that can be accessed by anyone at any time online, making getting your voice heard in the chaos a daunting task for any independent artist.
In the months ahead we'll be traveling the USA and Europe to meet with the innovators, players and contributors in this business. We'll be touring with the bands and telling their stories along the way.
This is, Adventures in Killing the Radio Star.
About the "Pre-Trailer" Director, Angel Ceballos, spent some time in England and West Coast USA to film the pre-trailer shown on this page to give viewers a very small teaser of what's to come. While this footage doesn't even scratch the surface of the adventure we will embark upon, we hope it'll enflame your curiosity as much as it has ours! We are releasing this pre-trailer on Kickstarter.com using one of the very mechanisms we'll be focusing on in the film: Internet and fan support for the indie artist.
$ (ʘ‿ʘ) The money we are raising on Kickstarter will be the first wave to help fund travel expenses, a little equipment, & music for the film. Since we'll be filming accross the USA and in Europe we will be planning on another fundraiser in 2011 for travel expenses. Welcome aboard, this is going to be awesome!
