Time to Back Out Productions (award winning diy indie film production) is seeking funding for our brand new feature length film REPLACE YOURSELF currently in pre-production.
A psychological time travel thriller set in the present, explores the adage "you don't know what you have till it's gone". The life of a husband and father, with questionable morals, changes forever when his wife and daughter are brutally murdered. Struggling to move on while finding a new sense of purpose, he meets an unconventional scientist claiming he can send him back in time to save his family. Begrudgingly accepting, he successfully makes the journey to one year earlier, effectively thwarting his family's murder. With his family safe, he sets his sights on the past immoral version of himself who he attempts to replace. However, his past self doesn't give up without a fight leading to an ultimate showdown...
Where's the Money Going?
To create this project, the team at Time to Back Out Productions is fully equipped to write, shoot and edit fresh video content at any given time. However, our cast & crew do not work on good faith alone, so they will require to be fed and be provided a daily stipend especially since the 9 day shooting schedule will be more intensive than our previous shoots. The other items needed to complete the project include props (many of which we already have), project insurance and location fees. We keep our budget as lean as possible, but producing a feature film still costs money. Hence the demand for a $10,000 budget.
Meet Our Cast + Crew
Although this isn't the entirety of the cast + crew, these devoted artists have worked with us before and are excited to work with us again. The remaining positions will be filled after the budget is obtained. wink* wink*
Production Video Blogs (vlogs)

Don't believe us? Well we can prove it! From day 1, we have cataloged the work we've done on this project in the form of video blogs (vlogs). CLICK HERE to visit our YouTube playlist of Replace Yourself Production Vlogs.
Still on the fence? Let me knock you down onto the "make a donation" side!
We are dedicated "do it yourself" filmmakers who aren't afraid to do what's necessary to complete any project. This isn't our first film and it won't be our last. Our list of supporters is growing every day and you could be a tremendous addition to that list by making a donation!
Risks and challenges
Making a feature length film is never an easy task, whether your Stephen Spielberg or a local artist just starting out, each project has it's own set of challenges.
When the Time to Back Out Productions filmmakers set out to make our first feature film DESOLATION, we were fairly unprepared resulting in a long arduous period of post production. Learning quite a bit from the experience, we got to work on a few smaller projects to put into practice the lessons we had learned.
One such, was simply to take more time with pre-production in all aspects. Being more prepared would have improved production resulting in a better quality film. For REPLACE YOURSELF, we have spent the past year writing, planning, and promoting allowing us to pay attention to crucial details.
Another challenge faced was our limited capabilities of our sound department. Recently upgrading to a higher quality mic and mixer have allowed us to record crisp dialogue as well as dynamic foley.
The challenge, that all filmmakers face, is the potential of their project to be relevant. When creating original content, it's essential to compare your concept to similar successful movies. In our case, we examined time travel movies both new and old. Films like Looper, Primer and Back to the Future are all movies of a similar genre admired by cinephiles everywhere!
We plan on spending time, after post production is complete, researching film festivals to determine the best fests catered towards the sci fi/thriller genres.
Although I'm certain there will be more risks and challenges heading our way, we are great at thinking on our feet making the best of any situation to produce the best film possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
