I think we're all wondering what ever happened to the official video for 'Touch my Booty'?

    2. Jeff Kursonis on November 13, 2011

      Hey Bess,

I'm one of your Kickstarter supporters - I've been listening to the album non-stop, it's become one of the records that you keep thinking about and the melodies come into your head at all odd times!!

I feel so very blessed to have played my tiny small part in helping bring this music into the world. I feel like I should have had a career as an A&R guy, like I'm that good at seeing talent!

The songs are just so tight in terms of spare meaningful lyrics, lush melodies in your lush voice, awesome arrangements produced and mastered so sonically awesomely, and most of all the talent you have that I am so thrilled to enjoy and which may go uncommented on because it's commonly the unsung hero of song - you're quasar galactic high level of vocal phrasing ability!!! I don't think I've ever heard a vocal artist that phrases as perfectly as you do, and that you are able to write melody/lyric combinations upon which to hang your phrasing ability is what I believe is at the core of your unique artistic gift. You know just where to put a syllable as a note of melody and at a point in time rhythmically AND with a chosen vocal timbre and how to change all the above in the most intellectually and emotionally satisfying ways! You are truly a singer-songwriter who understands song.

I thank you immensely for the gifts your art brings me. You've placed essences of your humanity within the medium of song in ways that enlarge my humanity...where would I be now without you?

      Hey Bess,
      Congrads on getting the funding
I'm just wondering what the real costs are. Your Hamster story is a bit vague.
Check out my group Brüknahm, City of Light LP now on iTunes. We made this record for $0.

Gabriel - actually the physical copy of the record just means the CD. I've thought about pressing to vinyl and may do so if there is extra left over after promoting the record. We'll see!

    14. Mandie Bee on April 29, 2011

      Hi Bess,
You Inspired us to make our own Kickstarter campgain! We freaking love you

    15. Gabriel on April 29, 2011

Hey great kickstarter page! My question to you: Does a physical copy of the record mean you're pressing it to vinyl? And if that wasn't the original plan, maybe it'd be a good use for your surplus funds. I'd pledge for a vinyl album, not so interested in a compact disc.

    16. audioangel on April 29, 2011

Go Bess Go! You are very inspiring here in Kickstarter land!!! Enjoy this process and make music you LOVE! =)

    17. Jennifer G on April 28, 2011

Bess, I love your music. My hubby and I never had a wedding (4 yrs ago!) but I don't have the 2K now (nor enough money for a wedding). Too bad - you would've been ideal. Keep pushin' on girl and keep it up! Can't wait to listen to more of your tunes!

    18. FASCINOMA a.k.a. Chairmeowww on April 27, 2011

Bess, you have 200% of your fundraising money, but I saw your video today and it made me laugh. Oh good. You're in NY. If you ever come to LA, I have a proposal for you. Venue and a place to stay. And I'm not a man, or a dangerous lesbian.

    19. Violette Bowhay on April 27, 2011

I wish I was getting married, and had more money to spend so I could have Bess officiate, that would be awesome.

@Sam, I think you have an interface issue. Try replacing the wheel with an old wacom tablet I think the inputs/results will once again vary, but ghost chilies will give a very lively result.

    20. Kyle McCowin on April 18, 2011

@Sam Ha! Have you tried coffee and cigarettes? Based on my friends this will either get your graphic design or Great American Novel (unfinished)

this kickstarter is not going very well. you should cancel so you don't look like an IDIOT.

    30. Bess Creator on April 9, 2011

Jeffrey - Thanks no offense taken. An album can absolutely be mixed and mastered for less than 10k. It can also be done for way more. Just depends on who you get - and I want to make sure my album sounds as good as it can. I also factored pressing into that 10k number.

    31. Jeffrey C. Burandt on April 7, 2011

Nevermind. Promoting it will take a lot of money, and I loved the song and video. Hope I wasn't rude.

    32. Jeffrey C. Burandt on April 7, 2011

It's great you raised this money, and super congratulations, but records don't cost $10,000 to mix and master. Where did this number come from?

I thought it would take at least one more day, but you raised enough money to surpass your goal in two days. Amazing. Just a testament to your diligence and commitment to excellence in songwriting and musicianship, constant touring, long rides to gigs, sleeping in crappy hotels, but keeping your eye on the prize. You can to produce the music you want to on your own terms. Don't you just feel like doing cartwheels across your living room? Carl

    38. JohnR on April 2, 2011

I am not at all surprised that Bess made it and made it this quickly. She's got a lot of loyal fans all over the globe. I'll be disappointed if she doesn't double her goal by the time it's over.

      All I can say is:

Love is encompassed in my Lady’s eyes
Whence she ennobles all she looks upon.
Where e’er she walks, the gaze of everyone
She draws; in him she greets, such tremors rise,
All pale, he turns his face away, and sighs,
Reflecting on his failings, one by one.
Fleeing before her, wrath and pride are gone.
Come, ladies, sing with me her eulogies,
      All gentleness and humility
When she is heard to speak in hearts unfold,
And blessed is he by whom she first was seen (Kuffy).
When she a little smiles, her aspect then
No tongue can tell, no memory can hold,
So rare and strange a miracle is she.
      — Dante, from La Vita Nuova, (translated by Barbara Reynolds)

Also this video made me cry it was so good.
