About this project
I think everyone has taken a selfie and posted it on social media at least once.
But is not easy. When you do it in privacy of your own home you may use a mirror to picture yourself. This kind of photos sometimes shows only flash light instead of you or the bathroom stuff in the background. If not a mirror photo, you may use your arm and hold the camera as far as you can reach but it is not the best way of doing so (fat, outstretched arm effect)
So we decided to help you with this difficult activity and make it as easy and fun as possible - we created Cellfie

How to set up
You can start taking pictures with your Cellfie in a few easy steps. Please have a look at the presentation below.
Set-up process is only required for the first time after that your smartphone will be automatically connected each time you switch Cellfie on.
Cellfie works both on iOS and Android without downloading or installing 3rd party camera app! All models listed below were tested by us and we do NOT recommend any other devices.

Smartphone photography is growing rapidly and you don`t need to be an expert to take great pictures and share them on social networking websites. But sometimes we have to deal with some issues....
We are all familiar with the profile photos taken in the mirror with the camera covering the face and a blinding flash in the mirror and most of them are taken in the bathroom...
When we go for a holiday we ask other tourists or some strangers to take photo for us but such pictures are never as good as we want it to be.What if there is no one around? We can try to take pictures holding our smartphone at arm`s length but we are loosing major part of the beautiful backgrounds.
To sort this out we came up with Cellfie - portable and fully functional smartphone shutter.
From sketching to manufacturing...
Product development takes time and it is not as easy as we may think. After weeks of unsuccessful research we decide to experiment with devices available on the market to build our very first Cellfie prototype.
Simple smartphone holder and telescopic fishing rod were a great products to start with but still we struggled with mechanism of taking photos - self-timer wasn`t best solution. We started digging... and found that it is possible to take pictures using standard 3.5mm audio jack cable but more issues came up...this solution requires additional hardware in the form of an encoder-decoder DTMF to avoid any possible audio signal disturbance and dedicated app which could significantly raise the production costs.
We looked closer at surrounding us world and found that basic bluetooth module used in wireless keyboards would be best solution. Using technical documentation for Android and iOS systems we figured out how to pair this little device with smartphone API.
Over the past few months we made significant progress in the developing of our product. We spent a lot of time on testing, improving and analysing issues that may arise during production process. 3D printers and CNC mills became integrated tools in the whole developing process without which we would be unable to create prototype that fulfill all of our requirements. With Cellfie in hand we asked our friends to test them in real life. After receiving constructive feedback we made last improvements and now we can be proud of our product.
We spent tons of hours in our studio on developing Cellfie which wasn`t an easy process. Our savings were invested in the first and fully working prototype (pictured in this project) but we reached the point that requires more investments.We strongly believe that together with your help and with our experience Cellfie will become a reality.
So far we made some arrangements with all the suppliers and manufacturers we need. To be able to produce Cellfie for you for a reasonable price we need to collect funds to meet minimum orders and tooling costs.
Manufacturing is always a complex process that requires professional tools, machinery and knowledge. It took some time before we found some appropriate manufactures that are capable to fulfill our requirements. Cellfie is mostly made from stainless steel and durable plastic. For the main part we chosen manufacturer that has vast experience in making accessories for compact and DSLRs cameras such us tripods, monopods etc. Thanks to their experience and kindness we were able to gain broad knowledge of manufacturing process and improve our product accordingly.
Bluetooth component will be made by company that specialize in wireless devices such as PC accessories, RC toys and gadgets. We spent unforgettable times with engineers testing and analysing various types of RC technologies available on the market and we are confident that we are in good hands.

Risks and challenges
Main challenge is to spread the word and to get this project successfully funded. As soon as we achieve our goal we start manufacturing process and after 12 weeks Cellfie will be ready for dispatching.
Some unexpected obstacles may occur during that process but we are ready to work hard to sort out every issue and keep our backers up to date with the progress.
Kickstarter`s community is spread all over the world and delivering your rewards on time will be another challenge but based on our experience we are confident that it should take no more than 4 weeks to reach our backers on the other side of the globe.
