My ultimate goal is to find someone able to help make a movie of this love story. I have always been the family historian and have a good memory. I think my hardest journey was finding the story of the man my mom always said she hated. Her dad. A drunkard, a deadbeat, a neglectful parent. But as I uncovered more and more about him my mom was more and more excited. I have been doing family research for over 30 years and I honestly believe this is a story for film. Girl meets guy wrapping bandages for the Doughboys, guy comes home and finds her, they fall madly in love and try to hold on to love until the depression hits. They lose thier way and lose each other. And, although my mom seemed to hate her dad, she is attracted to his looks, grace, and acomplishments reflected in my older brother. This could go many directions, and my first stop on this journey, is to get the book that I recieved indirectly from him published. It is a photo journal from WWI. It originally had a leather cover and was presented to him as a gift after leaving the Persing occupying forces in France. The least I can do is try to give thiis gift to those looking for names and places. It is almost 99% photo's with names in sub titles. Sections that are especially interesting are: Operations of the Second Army, S.O.S, Women in the WAR, Welfare in the War, Sections on each battle campaign, Victory and the Armistice. I dont have any of thier love letters. I do know the stories and have some pics and news paper clippings of thier adventure.
Risks and challenges
Risks are that the pdf will not perfectly reflect the names of the person depicted on the 560 page document. I am prepared to over come the obsticales by trying to verify names.
