About this project
Hello friends, fans, and strangers!
I'm currently creating my first full-length album. My music combines the awesomeness of guitar and trombone and is inspired by my home town of South Lake Tahoe. I'm excited to bring you 12 inventive and infectious songs to kick back with, groove to, drive with, cry over, and, of course, sing along to.
The project is well underway, and the final product will feature the musicianship of Kris Karlsson, Mike Lindsay, Ross Garren, Will Gramling, Maggie Hasspacher, and many many others, brought to life by the production of Nate Vaughan.
Where I've been
For over five years I've been exploring the intersection of my two passions—songwriting and trombone—and I have performed with everything from small acoustic ensembles to big funky electric bands to the simple purity of four trombones and a voice.
With the help of friends, I've made some immensely satisfying music along the way, and I have even recorded a few EP's to make recordings that attempt to catch my creative vision. Here's a cut from my last EP to show you what I mean:

This exploration has been really exciting and has paid off with so many great shows and unforgettable moments. Many of the musicians I've met along the way have continued to play with me and are bringing their talents to the record.
About this project
Since February of this year, I have been working with a friend of mine, producer Nate Vaughan, to bring my music to life. Nate and I conceived an album that we think will be as sincere as it is fun and funky. Nate has brought his talent in production and combined it with a deep interest and belief in my music.
The music is really exciting to Nate and me, and we're including a couple of tracks below to give you an idea of what you're supporting. These tracks are unfinished (we have some exciting string and horn sessions booked this month!), largely unmixed, and totally unmastered, but we're excited to show them to you anyway. We're even more excited to deliver the final versions of these songs (and ten more!) in January, 2014.

Learning the Hard Way
Everyone working on the album is doing so for way less money than they should, just because they believe that music—all music, but especially music that takes chances and explores new territory—is important. Nate and I have worked hard to keep costs down and still bring you the best music that we possibly can.
This is where you come in.
If you believe in independently-produced music and love the creative freedom that it gives to musicians, or even if you just happen to like me or my music, then consider supporting the album by pre-ordering a digital or physical copy. If you can support at one of the higher levels, you'll come away with some great swag, be able to give the music away to friends who might enjoy hearing something new, and know that you were an important part of this project!
Your contributions will account for about half of the costs of producing the album, which include paying the musicians, some limited studio time, mixing, mastering, and pressing CD's.
We appreciate your support at any level, and thank you for being a part of this humbling and exciting process!
Also, we're excited to announce a REACH GOAL:
If we raise $4200 ($1200 beyond the goal amount), we will be getting the record pressed to VINYL and sending a copy to everyone who supports at the $28 level or higher!

Risks and challenges
The biggest risk is that we are late for our January 2014 delivery date. We are recording the final tracks this month, and we will be sending it off to mix soon thereafter.
This album is going to happen, but we need your support to pay the costs of getting it mixed, mastered, and pressed by the delivery date.
