The Next Big Thing...

Hey Da Backers,

If you enjoyed Book of Da and you ever wondered if those guys might ever make another book ....wonder no longer!  Here it is!(sort of):

Matt and I have been slowly chipping away at a 200 page graphic novel (in color!) called "Anasazi".  Right now half of the art is complete and that half will be published in our first 4 issues of Floating Head - Graphic Science Fiction Quarterly.  Along with it will be 4 chapters from my(Mike's) in-progress graphic novel "SWAP", some other shorter things from us, serialized and one-off fiction from many of our friends, some illustration and posters and whatnot.  With any luck, we will be publishing the entirely of Anasazi in Floating Head and then releasing it in a satisfying hardbound collected GN beyond that.

In many ways Anasazi is more experimental and challenging GN than Book of Da.  We're grateful for all the great responses we've received from you guys.  It's been encouraging as we've taken on these new projects.  So thanks again!

This thing still on??...

Getting on the mic to let you know about a project I'm running (just Mike not Matt) until the end of January.  Its called Homeworlds, and its a limited edition postcard set featuring alien landscapes.  Check it out here:

Matt and I have a new book in the works.  It's a big project and there is still a lot to finish before we're ready to share it.  Hope you're as excited as we are.

Seasons Greetings

Hey All,

We wanted to drop a line to let you know what's been going on with the book and show off some new comics.

We've been hitting the Indie-Comic-Con circuit, getting the word out, and selling off some of our massive pile of books.  We tabled at Small Press Expo(SPX), and Alternative Press Expo(APE) this past fall.  Much fun was had.(see video below).  This coming spring we will be tabling at STAPLE Con in Austin, TX, SPACE Con in Columbus, OH, and with any luck CAKE, in Chicago, IL.  Come and say hi.  We've met a few of you already.

On the inter-webs, you can find us in a few new places.  We set up a store front for the book on Tumblr:  Matt now has a storefront on Big Cartel: , as well as a fancy new website:  Book of Da also has its very own Goodreads page where a few of you have already posted reviews.  Several Blogs/publications have reviewed the book as well.

In addition to recognizing Matt as Best Local Cartoonist, our Saint Louis alternative weekly the Riverfront Times gave Matt a "Mastermind Award" for emerging artists. which coincidentally landed the Reverend smack on the Cover!...

We've got some very early plans in the works for a new book and a new Kickstarter.  More on that when it develops.  For now, here's a couple of mini-comics from Matt and myself.

Matt's latest issue of Moses and Bean:

Mike's new fairy-tale mini A-Lure:

Happy X-masses and Merry New Years one and all and may you escape Da's wrath another year!

PDF Downloads, Book Talk, Feedback

We're going to start sending Dropbox links today for the PDF Book and Extras Download.  However, since we need to send this message to all the $15 backers at once(450 Backers), my Dropbox is likely to crash if everyone downloads today.  If this happens the link should work fine the next day.  I'll give the $15 tier a good week before I move on to the other backers so that everyone who wants to download, has a chance.

For local STL Backers, we are doing a book talk/signing tonight (June 20) at 7pm at the Schlafly Branch Library in the Central West End.  We'll be doing a little making of presentation and talking a little about the kickstarter.

Also, I was surprised and delighted to see that Book of Da now has a listing on GoodReads(, ) and that some of you have already posted feedback.  Thanks for all your feedback in the comments and messages as well.  We love hearing your reactions.
