WHAT'S THE STORY?
Fighting with Forks is a creative collective between Cincinnati, OH and Nashville, TN with a huge heart for great story and characters. We had already made 4 films in the last year, and we wanted to take our most ambitious step...making a feature film.
We thought a unique way to do it would be to break it up into three stories. The chapter we’re about to film is centered around...
A group of high schoolers who have discovered a mysterious box that many of them think has the ability to grant wishes. As every "wish" is fulfilled, something horrible happens in return. It’s a film filled with intrigue, comedy, and drama.
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
We are trying to raise enough money for production on our feature film, "The Many Monsters of Sadness". We are beginning production in Cincinnati this summer.
We’re also partnering up with a non-profit organization, The Underground, who offers a dynamic film-making program for high schoolers. Your generosity will also make it possible for our feature film to be an interactive, hands-on classroom for these aspiring filmmakers.
WHERE CAN I LEARN MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT?
Please visit our official production company website, www.fightingwithforks.com! There you watch all our films, find a full synopsis of the story, bios, our blog and lots more information to come! We have a large number of amazing professionals who are volunteering their time, effort and energy to bring this project to life.
Because this is exactly how we want to make our movies! We have now made seven films solely based on the support of friends, family and professionals who wholeheartedly believe in us. No big studios, no fancy film funds, no political grants, no greedy investors. Just friends of our project and us. And we want you and Kickstarter to be a part of this! Our chance is finally here to finance and support the movies we would like to see on the big screen.
CAN WE EXCEED THE GOAL?
YES! This would truly be amazing. Exceeding our goal would allow us to make a better movie. Kickstarter will allow as much money as is given before the deadline. We have tried to set our goal at a realistic level so if we were able to exceed it, it would be a dream come true and allow us to rent better equipment, hire more professionals and an overall increase in our production value.
CAN I INCREASE MY PLEDGE ONCE I'VE MADE IT?
YES! Once you donate to our campaign, you may want to change your incentive reward to a different one, or increase your pledge amount. To do so, go to Kickstarter and sign in. If you go to our campaign page, the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click it and you can enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE MONEY ISN'T RAISED IN TIME?
If our goal isn’t met before the deadline, we get no money even if we’re only a few dollars short! We want to avoid this scenario at all costs!
IF I DONATE, WHEN DO I GET MY INCENTIVE?
All incentives, big and small, will only happen if our goal is met. If we do meet our goal, immediately after we wrap post-production we will start to manufacture and ship all physical merchandise directly to you. The screenings, parties and dvds etc. will also happen after the film is completed but this will take a bit of time. Please bear with us.
WHAT ARE THE PLANS FOR THE FILM?
We'll be submitting to both domestic and international film festivals for 2012 screenings in hopes of getting some commercial distribution.
HOW DO WE CONTACT YOU?
