Diggsy Ellston has been in love with Suzette Larking since he was 9 years old. Now, getting drunk in front of the church where Suzette just married another man, Diggsy meets a stranger who offers him an unbelievable gift: a chance to find another Suzette.
This mysterious figure offers Diggsy a key. But it's not just any key. It's a key that can open doors into alternate realities. Universes parallel to his own. Universes where other versions of Suzette may not only exist, but where one of them could even possibly love him.
Sounds magical, but there's one major catch: Once Diggsy uses the key, he can't go back; he will forever leave everyone and everything he has ever known. Diggsy’s hesitation lies in the strong bond he shares with his sister, Daphne, but he justifies his decision to leave on the belief that she wants him to move on in life.
With every new universe comes a new decision: Stay or leave? Settle or keep chasing the dream of finding a Suzette who will love him? Allow himself to fall in love with someone else? Diggsy’s journey is filled with comedy, heartbreak, adventure, and a heavy dose of fish out of water.
FEATURE FILM SUMMARY
STORY OF THE TEAM
In the summer of 2010, Motke Dapp and Ryan Hartsock joined forces for the first time to make a film in the 48 Hour Film Project competition. The film went on to win several awards, and a new partnership was formed: Paper Ghost Pictures.
From the summer of 2010 until present day, Motke and Ryan have made multiple award-winning short films and commercials with an amazing collective of creative individuals; one a crowdfunded feature film (The Many Monsters of Sadness) created in conjunction with a high school film camp; one (Sorry About Tomorrow) being selected by some of the largest film festivals in the country including Seattle International Film Festival, Cinequest, the PBS Film Festival; and another (Contrary to Likeness) being invited to screen at the illustrious Cannes Film Festival this May.
Several crew members from the team discussed going to Cannes to support “Contrary to Likeness”. Ryan and Motke spotted an even greater opportunity. “What if we made a feature film while we’re over there?” After hashing out some details, the team decided to film not only in the south of France, but also the beautiful and foreign landscape of Iceland where a cast member had relatives.
In less than a week, Motke and Ryan invited members of the creative collective formed over so many years, and their plan came to life. A new adventure was calling them.

HOW FUNDS WILL BE USED
We want to make this crystal clear...this Kickstarter is NOT funding our cast and crew to go on a trip Cannes and Iceland. They believe so strongly in this creative team and this story they are giving of their time and money.
After Kickstarter fees, credit card processing fees, and the fulfillment of all Rewards, the balance of the budget will be spent as follows:
35% on Shooting: Most of the cast and crew are literally investing in the film with their own time and money; additional crew abroad and in the States; possible A-List talent options; camera, lighting, sound and transport rental; hair & makeup, and misc (location fees, hard drives, etc)
35% on Post-Production: mainly (sound and video) editing.
30% on Pre-Marketing and Pre-Distribution efforts: getting the film a chance to be seen by a large audience on various distribution channels such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, iTunes, possible theatrical release and VOD.
There are a lot of things in our lives which ask us to give. Thank you for considering giving us your support!
Risks and challenges
Filmmaking is a risky and often expensive endeavor with many moving parts and various contributors at every stage. Many films are not made and/or completed due to the expense and because the filmmakers are not prepared for the realities of film production.
We are keenly aware yet confident we are ready to tackle both of these with ingenuity, sweat equity and your support. We have also offset the inherent risks of making a film with the following:
1. An experienced team with a director (Motke Dapp) and a team of producers, who has successfully brought both award-winning features and short films to festivals and audiences worldwide.
2. An evolutionary track record of bringing compelling and innovative original stories to the screen that connect with audiences. Feel free to browse our work to see for yourself.
3. A complete, ready-to-shoot script with a full breakdown, itemized budget, and filming schedule PLUS amazing locations to make the story leap from the page to life with some major production value.
4. Chutzpah. Most of our cast and crew, in particular, believe so thoroughly in the screenplay they have paid out of their own pocket to travel to Iceland, France and here in the States to make the film. To make the best film possible, we need your help.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
