About this project
On his way home from work, Darren falls asleep on the bus. when he wakes up he realizes he has missed hıs stop and the bus has reached its final destinatıon; a peculiar district inhabited by bizarre eccentrics that attempt to draw hım into an eerie realm of the uncanny as he desperately tries to make his way back to familiar grounds.
The film will emphasize the visually surreal qualities of the peculiar world Darren finds himself stranded in. Although this is not an easy feat, we are confident that we have the necessary crew and cast to fulfill our expectations. We plan to use extensive production design and costumes to create a truly dreamlike world.
We are five passionate film students at Emerson College. Some Nights is our ambitious attempt to make a film that goes beyond the expectations of our Intermediate Film Production class. We have recruited a stellar cast (including some SAG actors) and a crew of 20 talented Emerson film students all working for free.
Principal photography will take place November 9th thru 11th in Boston, MA.

WHERE THE MONEY IS GOING
We are very passionate about creating this film, but making a film of this caliber according to our particular vision is not cheap. Film is a dying medium and we truly believe in it. We will be shooting in Super 16mm Negative Film (7219), which is something we are all extremely excited about. However, since film is a dying medium it has become very expensive.
We'll need your help to make our concept a reality. The money raised will go towards:
Film Stock, Processing and Transfer
Equipment Rental and Insurance
Risks and challenges
A project like this comes with some challenges.
Since this film is being produced through a class at Emerson College, there's a set deadline we have to meet (December 10th). This means that our shooting dates are not movable. If it were to rain during our shooting dates, we would have to invest in materials to waterproof all lights, grip and camera equipment in order to ensure the safety of both our crew and equipment.
Shooting 16mm film is a wonderful opportunity and it's something we're all very excited about. However, this doesn't come without its risks. Since film is expensive, we'll be working with a limited amount of it. In order for us to minimize the amount of film we use we need to ensure that all other elements of the production run smoothly.
About half of the film takes place outside at night. Night exteriors can be very challenging to light. They require a lot of light and time to set up. In order to do this successfully, we'll have to rent HMI lights and a generator, which isn't cheap.
It would be impossible to realize this film without the help of wonderful patrons like yourself! Please help us make this dream (quite literally) a reality!
