Update #3 - Gobble Tov! And Stretch Stretch Stretch Goal!

Hello Menurkey Fans!

First of all, Gobble Tov!  Thanks to you we made our Stretch Stretch Goal of $45,000.  Amazing!

As we count down to the end of the campaign it's still hard to believe that this little idea from our nine-year-old would spur such enthusiasm.  Nearly 800 backers, almost twice our goal raised, National press, interest from retailers and countless good wishes - this has been a truly amazing experience.  Much of it has been due to you, our backers, so we're overflowing with thanks!  We simply can't believe the outpouring of support we have received over the last few weeks. 

But it's not over yet.  To kick off these last few hours we have some special treats for our backers!  We're excited to report that the first ceramic Menurkey has rolled out of the kiln unscathed.  And she's looking pretty good!  Here are a couple of images.

And we're saving the best for last - included with this update is a 1 minute preview of the Menurkey Song!   Recorded by those sock-a-delic masters of high energy music, The Dirty Sock Funtime Band, it's an adaptation of the old favorite 'O Hanukkah O Hanukkah'  with our own Menurkey twist.  We hope you enjoy!  Our apologies (not really) for getting it stuck in your head from now until Thanksgivukkah!  Those of you who backed the project with $50 or more will receive a free digital download of the song, but we hope also to make it available soon on CDBaby.  

Hopefully the song will provide you with extra motivation, to get the word out even further and grow the Menurkey team even larger over the next 24 hours before the campaign ends!  Starting now, we're announcing a stretch stretch stretch goal of $53,000 (that's $45,000 plus $1,000 for each day of Hanukkah).  Ambitious?  Perhaps, but we've come to believe there's nothing wrong with a bit of magical thinking when it comes to this bird.  As you probably know, the last days of a campaign are crucial for building support in order to keep the momentum going even after it ends.  Tell everybody you know about this amazing song (this update is available to anyone who visits our page before the end of the campaign), and of course spread the word about the amazing Menurkey.  

Of course we have no intention of ending the Menurkey fun after the campaign.  We will be moving Menurkey 'Headquarters' to our website, and working hard on getting the Menurkey out to you and the world as soon as we can.  We will have more information on that in our End of Campaign Update!  We can't thank you enough for your incredible support!

      Hello, 'intrepid' ceramic edition-er here! Just a brief break from "Menurkey Workey" to say Mazel Tov on the HUGE success of this campaign and on the awesome song!! It's definitely already in my head!! Makes me want to get up and dance in a circle!!

      can't wait to have my Menurkey. My grown married children think I am crazy, but they will all be visiting for Thanksgiving/Chanukah. what a better way to celebrate.

      LOVE the preview!!!! Can't wait for the whole thing! Since our first child (of 4) got married 15 years ago, we started celebrating Thanksgiving on the evening before, so they can each go to their in-law's the next day. Thanksgivukka has turned into one SPECIAL celebration this year adding the Menurkey & now this festive tune to our already dual celebration! Other plans are in the works................

      Thanks for being a Menurkey fan!! Of course, the window was always short for traditional large volume retail (a year in advance), but the plan was always to go to unique gift retailers, Judaica shops and sell direct to consumers through the website. We're on track and doing our best to keep to that plan!

      Glad marketing has gone so well - I'm a big fan of your project. Can you manufacture and ship enough units this month for your retailers? I imagine they want product on their shelves yesterday. Or are you only making enough Menurkeys to cover backers?
