We are in the final stretch of our Kickstarter campaign and we want to give it a boost through the launch of a public demo and a small contest.
Anyone who completes the demo and shares the end that has been obtained in our social networks will have as a gift the access to an exclusive weapon when the game is launched.

In Lamentum you will guide Victor, a young aristocrat, who will embark on a desperate journey to find a cure for a rare disease.
Our last hope lies in a dark mansion and a long-forgotten ritual called "The Pact of Laments."
Soon you will be involved in a nightmare where we will fight for our lives... Will you discover the truth behind the pact?
The inspiration to create Lamentum is very diverse, as a survival horror, Lamentum is inspired by games like Alone in The Dark, Silent Hill and Resident Evil.
The way we have designed the exploration is directly based on top-down games like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and the difficulty, lore, enemies, traps is taken from more current games that have impacted us and that we love ( like the Dark Souls saga and Bloodborne.)
The game also has the possibility of being stealthy, we do not reach the level of depth of a Metal Gear games ;) but we like and wanted to include the option of hiding and moving forward avoiding conflict.
PLATFORMS AND LANGUAGES:
Lamentum is scheduled to be released in Q1 2020 on PC (Windows / Linux) and later on Nintendo Switch (Q2 2020), PS4 and XBOX One (Q4 2020).
We want Lamentum will be in all the available languages we can.
If we achieve our first goal Lamentum will be available in English, Spanish, German, Russian, Italian, French, Chinese and Japanese.
Lamentum is a survival horror, and as such our protagonist will have different weapons and tools that will be of help during the course of his adventure.
Our protagonist will have a lamp to see in the dark, use lock picks to open locked doors and chests, use restorative and bandages to recover their health and will have access to other tools, such as the shovel, which will serve to advance and eliminate obstacles that is finding in its way.
To defend against the dangers that will haunt you, you will have at your disposal a large number of melee and ranged weapons.
Each weapon is different and will have unique characteristics that will make it more suitable to face the different types of threats that we will encounter throughout our adventure.
The choice of the weapon is important. Do you prefer a quick weapon of short range or perhaps a slow weapon that does a lot of damage?
Firearms will be a great advantage because of their scope but they will consume ammunition, a good that will be scarce.
Sometimes it will be better not to fight and that is why our character can hide to go unnoticed... But be careful, not all the creatures of Lamentum will use their vision to hunt you down.
Grau Hill hides countless secrets, many items may be hidden at first sight, others may seem unreachable, you must use your ingenuity to find them.
From the beginning of the development we were always clear that Lamentum will have several finals available depending on the decisions we choose while we play. But... How are decisions made in Lamentum?
During your gameplay, you will meet several characters that may influence the course of the story and that will force us to decide what we want to do.
Some decisions will be presented through a system of elections in the dialogues.
But this is not the only way to make decisions in Lamentum... To whom will you give the object? Which way will you choose? Did you solve the puzzle correctly?
Who are the Custodians?
The origin of the Custodians is something that you will have to discover for yourself. Who are they and what do they really protect? Are you ready to discover the truth?
The Custodians are unique and powerful creatures. Each of them will be a great challenge for our protagonist and will require different strategies.
The world of Lamentum is full of nightmare creatures, each of them with different behaviours and attacks.
Each enemy in Lamentum will act in a different way. Some will try to attack you using their claws, others will hunt you down incessantly and others will poison you.
But others... Will simply eat you.
Not all dangers will be creatures, there will be traps that will reward your ingenuity or punish your mistakes with death.
During your nightmarish journey you will meet other characters and strange beings. Think about who you trust and who not... Every decision you make can have important consequences.

Our inventory will be limited and you will have to choose well which objects to carry at each moment. In certain places you can use item box to store objects in an unlimited way.
Our inventory system, apart from serving to store the objects that you want to carry during the adventure, will allow us to create shortcuts to the objects that we want to use more quickly.
This system allows us, for example, to quickly switch between a melee weapon, a ranged weapon and a potion, making combat more agile and effective.
In addition we can consult a diary that will record thoughts and annotations of our protagonist.
About Digital Art Book:
The digital artbook of Lamentum will contain the concept art, previous versions and final versions in pixel art of the enemies, characters and important items of the adventure.
It will also contain history, lore and facts that will help to better understand the origin of creatures and inhabitants of Grau Hill.
The most important parts of the development are almost finished. We are currently adding characters, enemies and implementing the main plot and its additional stories.
Our plan is to finalize the PC version and then develop the versions for the other platforms.
If we achieve the goal of "Nintendo Switch Fast-Track" we will have the necessary investment to accelerate the development and the port of Nintendo Switch and try to realize a simultaneous release PC-Nintendo Switch.
We have the collaboration of Black Light Sound, responsible for music and sound effects.
In Obscure Tales we are two people, Nicolás and Fran.
Fran our pixel art artist, lover of everything related to Lovecraft and Mignola. His dark imagination knows no limits and is capable of designing authentic monsters from a simple idea.
Nicolás is in charge of the programming area, working with Unity and creating tools to be able to implement playable levels and ideas together.
We are aware that our team is small, however we are two people very committed to our work and eager to make the video game survival horror of our dreams. The idea of creating Obscure Tales emerged from a development forum more than two years ago, as soon as we met, the spark of creativity jumped. We both had experience in the sector having worked in Spanish companies and having done small games in our spare time.
We started making sketches and worked on small jams to see what kind of game we wanted to develop. Little by little we made some small prototypes that were inspiring us to model the lore behind Lamentum. A year ago the development of Lamentum began and today we are here, presenting our project with all our enthusiasm.

Obscure Tales is formed by two people and until now, we have been creating Lamentum using our own resources.
We would like to continue being independent without external companies that can modify the original vision of the game. That is why we need a financial boost for bureaucratic procedures, accelerate console versions and invest in marketing.
