HEAL: A Symphonic Rock Album by Betancourt & Von Hauske (Canceled)
A powerful album that taps into feelings that start from pain and sorrow to a road of healing and end with a sense of joy and life.
Music Album “Heal” by Betancourt & Von Hauske
Betancourt & Von Hauske is the collective name of lyricist and writer Enrique Betancourt and composer and producer Juan G. Von Hauske. Having worked together in the past, producing and releasing a song for Enrique’s published novel THE IMAGINARIUM OF THE INNOCENT called “Chasing Elan”, the result of that collaboration sparked a powerful energy that could not be ignored, and demanded for more.
Juan G. Von Hauske is a engineer in music production, and not only does he work on a professional studio, but his own home has been turned into a makeshift studio so he can continue to work in producing several rising artists in Mexico and abroad. His knowledge of equipment to audio production software, not to mention his talent over keyboard and others instruments, make him a walking orchestra. Juan’s skills are not just learned, he is inherently a music prodigy.
Enrique Betancourt is a published writer, awarded a Bi-National prize for a novella in 2016 and publishing several novels both with Publishing Houses and Independently. Suffering from depression due to mental illness and struggling for eleven years of constant slips, he realized he wanted to explore his emotions beyond the written word and storytelling. With a love for music and being a huge fan of symphonic rock, he approached Juan one more time for a larger project: A symphonic rock album.
The objective of this campaign is raise funds to make something amazing: a symphonic rock album with element of other genres like pop, indie and cinematic soundtracks.
The project was born when Enrique approached Juan to collaborate for an album that is different from anything else. With a taste for different genres and crossovers and listening to influences that range from symphonic metal bands to Broadway musicals, indie pop songs and tapping to the most powerful emotions from depression to joy, they conceived the core of the album.
The album is named “Heal” because it is a road of emotional recovery, not just for the creators, but for everyone who listens to the album. Each song has such a specific meaning, and yet, it can be interpreted so broadly that it can relate to everyone. Everyone can just grab a song and be able to tell a part of their story with it. “Heal” is an album that puts aside the shallow world we live in and taps into the deepest feelings.
“Heal” is to feature several different musicians. From male and female vocals, to a range of guitarists, bassists and drummers. It’s not a band effort, but a collective musician project to give the album a powerful diversity. The idea is to make the album sound as varied as possible, no song is like the previous one, or the next one. Each song has it’s own journey, and yet, they all make up the higher journey to healing.
Award winning artist Raúl Cepeda would be working on the album artwork.
After discussing this project, and being certain of the road we wanted to take, we worked together to produce the first single of the album: “My Deviant Heart (Love Is Pride)”
“My Deviant Heart (Love Is Pride)” took weeks to complete, and turned out to be a very powerful song, both lyrically and musically, and also unique. The song talks about being different and learning to love oneself as they are. The original message was about Enrique’s view and journey as bisexual, but the song evolved to become an song for anyone who feels different. We are all special, and we all have something that makes us stand out, and yet, we hide it in order to be part of the “normal” society. With a symphonic rock drive with a hint of musical theater elements, “My Deviant Heart (Love Is Pride)” is not just a song, it is an anthem.
Should the Kickstarter campaign be successful, we would dive right into producing the album. Sadly, producing a music album is not an easy or cheap endeavor, especially for independent artists. Raising funds is the first step, because this is a very ambitious album. Our minimum goal covers the production of demos, the recording of live elements and the mixing and mastering of songs.
The idea is to have a finished product in a six month span.
As a backer, you would be constantly updated on our progress, receiving samples and exclusive demos from time to time as we craft a music album that will not be forgotten.
The music album would be produced in Mexico City.
By the time we are done, the album will be produced physically and digitally through independent platforms. It will be available worldwide, and finally we will be able to pat our backs and yell “Hooray!”
The production of such an album requires several steps and expenses to be able to deliver a job we would be proud and that would be worthy of your investment. Here we are showing our numbers and justify why we need your support.

Musicians and Singers: 1,730 USD. These funds would go to paying all the singers and musicians that are going to provide their talent in our endeavor to have a diverse album like the one in our heads.
Artwork Design: 250 USD. This covers the amazing artwork provided by award winner artist Raúl Cepeda, who has joined us to create the artwork for our album Heal. You can see his work in the cover artwork of both the album and the single.
Mastering Process: 1,470 USD would be used to give the master process to professional audio engineer, Adrian Treviño, to give the final touch and deliver the most professional music experience.

Music is everywhere. Sometimes a single song can make your heart ache or smile. Music is one of the gifts that proves we are human and we have feelings. A song can be powerful and personal. We encourage you to support us in this endeavor to help our souls heal and share all those feelings with you, and then you can share it with those you love.

Because with music…we can “Heal”.
Risks and challenges
The album is ALL-OR-NOTHING. Our detailed budget explains why failing to raise would kill the project. Juan Von Hauske has extreme knowledge of the music business as a producer himself, so he knows what makes it tick. We are ready to face the challenges, which is why we ask an extra quantity to cover "emergencies"Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
