Steeping is believing in this ingredient gathering and vision crafting board game. You will become one of the last four Steepseers and attempt to raise the most Belief by creating more teas and having more visions of the future for the people of your kingdom. First and foremost, a Steepseer must choose a tea house equipped with the finest tea ingredients in order to perform their art.
Time is running out however, and you will only have 10 rounds of play to generate as much Belief as possible. So open your tea house, gather your ingredients, add them to your teapot to steep, and don't forget what you put in there! If you run into trouble, remember, the Steam Spirits are always around to give you a helping hand.

Game Play Overview
A massive thank you from us to you! Seriously, we couldn't do this without you. We'll add your name to the list of Kickstarter backers on our website and rule book.
Just looking to join the world of Steepseers without the game? Then look no further! Immerse yourself with our soundtrack of all original scores, and enjoy a copy of our coloring book full of vision artwork from the game. Both rewards will be downloadable after the campaign ends. You'll also receive the We The People reward.
Here's a small sample of the Overture of the soundtrack:
The Steepseers have foretold your coming and welcome you! You'll receive a copy of Steepseers, along with all unlocked stretch goals. You'll also receive the We The People reward.
The Steam Spirits will never steer you wrong! You'll get a copy of Steepseers, all unlocked stretch goals, a deck of limited edition Tarot cards inspired by the artwork in the game, a physical copy of our coloring book, access to the downloadable soundtrack, and the We The People reward.
Be the best Steepseer you can be by getting this complete collection of Steepseer goodies. In addition to everything in The Steam Spirit's Guidance reward, you will receive a limited, one-of-a-kind, hand-made wooden box to store your new Steepseers Tarot cards.
Each box will have an assortment of Steepseers imagery hand carved and burned into the top and sides. The inside of the box will contain a raised cushioned space for your cards, covered in a silk material in the color of your choice. The stain applied to your box depends on the choice of silk color (see below for more details).
Here are some pictures of our latest prototype:
The image below shows the different color options available. We have red, yellow, green, blue, and purple silk materials available. If you choose green, blue, or purple, your box will be stained with the amber stain you see in all of the prototype pictures. If you choose red or yellow, your box will be stained with the darker stain shown on the separate piece of wood below. You'll make your color choice when surveys go out after the campaign ends.
We are offering most items as add-ons, including a couple items not available through the main campaign. We will be using BackerKit to handle surveys and add-ons. You can claim add-ons in two ways:
- Add the funds for the desired add-ons to your Kickstarter pledge and choose the items after the campaign with BackerKit.
- Wait until the end of the campaign to choose and pay for the add-ons with BackerKit.
After such a great experience with the successful re-launch of our first game's Kickstarter, we're back again with our second game: Steepseers. We're very excited to be able to bring this game to you. We've taken all the lessons we learned from our first attempt of game design and production and applied them here. As a result, we've managed to put together a solid and very re-playable game with a rarely seen theme in half the time it took us to make our first game. That's pretty incredible to us!
As of right now, all of the game play and rules are finalized, all components are designed, and only a hand-full of art pieces are left to finish. We've taken Steepseers with us to various conventions over the past year and have received a lot of great feedback from play testers. We managed to incorporate many of their good ideas, and we're thankful to them for helping to make our game even better.
We expect the remaining art to be finished within the next month. Once we receive it, we will finalize all of our components and place our order with our manufacturer. Please be aware that the final look of some of these components may change between now and when we place the order, but the mechanics and overall style will not change.
Unlike last time, we're making a few additional products. We'll be making coloring books and decks of Tarot cards, all with a Steepseers theme. Our hope is that everyone will unleash their inner Steepseer and make their own beautiful visions, one way or another. We brought back one of the composers from the Alkemia soundtrack to create a new soundtrack for this gorgeous world. In fact, another of the Alkemia composers (who has taken up wood working recently) will be creating one-of-a-kind hand-carved Tarot boxes for you to enjoy. We will work hard with them to ensure everything is accomplished on time.
We will maintain open and frequent communication with everyone about the state of the project as it progresses. We're very excited to be so close to delivering this game to backers, like you, who have shown your support. Whether you're new to the KinSoul community or you're a returning member, we thank you for your support and are thrilled to have you with us on our journey!
Risks and challenges
Art: There are only a few art pieces left to finish. We don't expect any issues with this, but we're aware that sometimes things happen. We will be very watchful of this, and if it looks like we're falling behind we'll do what we must to get things finished in time.
Shipping from manufacturer: Shipping from the manufacturer presents a set of risks that include quality control, communication, and timeliness. Some troubleshooting may be necessary that will delay the projected time of our project delivery. Currently, we are on track to receive a final prototype copy directly from our manufacturer to address any quality issues. Once all issues are resolved, the green light will be given for full production.
Fulfillment: We will be working with our manufacturer's fulfillment partner in order to provide reasonable prices to our international backers. For US backers, we'll be using USPS and handling the fulfillment ourselves. As this is how fulfillment of our previous project was handled, we feel prepared to execute domestic fulfillment effectively.
Additional Products: We're working with some outside people to bring you the extras we're offering. Specifically the soundtrack, tarot card boxes, and shirts. If they experience any delays or other issues, delivery of those rewards may be affected. If the delays become too much, we'll make sure those backers get everything else in the meantime.
Add-ons: This is our first time offering add-on items and using BackerKit to manage post-campaign surveys and add-ons. While there will be some learning here, we don't foresee any problems with backers getting their additional items. We will make the process as painless as possible.
With everything mentioned here, and more, we'll be sure to keep everyone as up to date on the process as possible. We learned a lot from our previous project, and we believe we're prepared to deliver this game. We're doing our best to plan ahead and minimize the chances of anything delaying our backers from getting their rewards.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
