"Live from the Fallout Shelter has been a staple in regular programming on WUML 91.5FM, Umass Lowell’s student run underground music college radio station, for quite some time now and continues to hold a strong stance in the local music scene. Now in it’s 25th year, Live from the Fallout Shelter has hosted over 500 bands from the smallest garage bands to well known nationally touring acts. Every Monday night from 8 to 11PM, the local music community tunes in to hear our live band of the week as well as our wide variety of music that we play before and after the band’s set. The show is aired every week throughout the year by its devoted DJ’s Tom, Sean, Ali and Derek.
To celebrate it’s 25th anniversary, the Fallout Shelter crew has decided to organize a huge benefit concert featuring some of the biggest bands to have played in our studio. The concert, which will be in April, will also serve as our 1985 - 2005 Live Band Compilation CD Release Party. All proceeds from door admission and CD sales will be going to benefit student run college radio. The show will be all ages so that everyone will feel welcomed and be able to enjoy the music. We will be booking a few smaller local bands who have played the radio show to play alongside the bigger acts that we will have for the show. This will give these smaller bands a huge chance to expose their music and art to the public.

This event does not have an affiliation with whoever is in charge of all of that..but it has inspired us to put on our own show. So please help us out! All of these bands are great and the kids setting up the show really deserve all the support anyone can give.
