Circadia #5: The Final Issue (AND CATCH UP TIERS!)
A queer fantasy about a ballerina and an assassin falling in love while trying to save the world
This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Thu, February 28 2019 11:00 PM UTC +00:00.
Zara is pretty sure her dream lover, a non-binary assassin named Aderes, is just that: a dream. A delightful figment of her imagination that comes to visit every night as she sleeps — no doubt conjured up due to a distinct lack of a social life and way too many long days spent at the barre trying to hold on to her spot in the ballet company.
But when strange occurrences in her dreams start to have real world consequences, and once pleasant dreams twist into nightmares, Zara realizes that the line separating her waking and sleeping life might be blurrier than she thought…
Circadia is a 5-issue story presented anthology style with a different team of queer women and non-binary artists showcasing their talents across each issue.
Each issue of Circadia is 22 full-color pages. A large portion of the work has been paid for out of pocket, so the biggest hurdles left are printing and shipping costs. Issues 1-4 are already complete, but we need your help to make Circadia's 5th and final issue a reality!
We've also included catch-up tiers for those who missed out on the previous issues' Kickstarters and want to collect the full Circadia experience!

Creator Jennifer Dugan is a YA novelist and comic writer that believes the world needs more stories about queer kids unapologetically living their lives, loving each other, and kicking ass. Circadia is her second comic after her ongoing horror comic, Gnaw. Her debut young adult novel, Hot Dog Girl, sold at auction to Putnam/Penguin and will be released April 30, 2019.
Issue 5 artist Little Corvus is an Eisner-nominated queer Latinx comic artist and illustrator born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. They love witches, street fashion, and positive diverse stories.
Curious about issues 1-4? You can find information on previous artists HERE.
Made possible by our backers on issues 1-4, these digital mini comics include a gorgeous short comic by Little Corvus, following the crow Munny on his adventures; a beautifully dark comic about Aderes by Eli Baumgartner, co-creator of Heart of Gold; and a romantic romp with Aderes and Zara, brought to life by Harriet Moulton. All shorts are written by Jennifer Dugan. These comics are included with all reward tiers!

Risks and challenges
This is a LOW-RISK project. We've allotted plenty of time to complete the art and have successfully printed the previous 4 issues on schedule.
There are bound to be risks and challenges with any endeavor, but I’ve done everything I can to mitigate these risks. I've run three Kickstarters before, and all rewards were delivered in a timely manner. Barring printer error, we should be good to go.
I plan to give regular updates throughout the campaign and after, so if anything should happen to come up, you will be kept in the loop as we work to resolve it.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
