Zara is pretty sure her dream lover, a non-binary assassin named Aderes, is just that: a dream. A delightful figment of her imagination that comes to visit every night as she sleeps — no doubt conjured up due to a distinct lack of a social life and way too many long days spent at the barre trying to hold on to her spot in the ballet company.
But when strange occurrences in her dreams start to have real world consequences, and once pleasant dreams twist into nightmares, Zara realizes that the line separating her waking and sleeping life might be blurrier than she thought…
Circadia is a 5-issue story presented anthology style with a different team of queer women and non-binary artists showcasing their talents across each issue.
Creator Jennifer Dugan is a YA novelist and comic writer that believes the world needs more stories about queer kids unapologetically living their lives, loving each other, and kicking ass. Circadia is her second comic after her ongoing horror comic, Gnaw. Her debut young adult novel, Hot Dog Girl, sold at auction to Putnam/Penguin and is slated to be released Summer of 2019.
The second issue of Circadia is 22 pages, full-color, and it's already complete and ready to go to print. A large portion of the work has been paid for out of pocket, so the biggest hurdles left are printing and shipping costs. Your support will make physical copies of Circadia Issue #2 a reality and help fund artist fees on future issues.
We've also included catch-up tiers for those who missed out the first time around. In addition to the standard catch up tiers, a physical copy of Circadia #1 can be added to ANY tier as an add-on.
WHO'S ON THE ISSUE #2 TEAM?
Domestic (US) shipping is included in all physical tiers! An additional fee will be added for international shipping.
To add a copy of issue #1 to any tier, adjust your pledge as follows. You will be asked on the backer survey at the end of the Kickstarter whether or not you requested copies of issue #1.
+ $4 for each digital copy
+ $5 for each physical copy (not available on digital-only tiers)
MJ Erickson is issue #2's main artist as well as the colorist on Circadia issue #1. She is currently working on "The Thrilling Adventure Hour" from BOOM! Studios. You can check out her portfolio here.
Issue #1 Mini Comics
Made possible by our backers on issue #1, these digital mini comics include a gorgeous short comic by Eisner-nominated artist Little Corvus, following the crow Munny on his adventures; and a beautifully dark comic about Aderes by Eli Baumgartner, co-creator of Heart of Gold. Both shorts are written by Jennifer Dugan and are available in the SOLOIST: ALL ACCESS tier.
Issue #3 Advance
Written by Jennifer Dugan and illustrated by artist Jey Pawlik, with lettering by Ariana Maher. SOLOIST: ALL ACCESS backers will unlock an advance digital copy of issue #3 over a month ahead of its official release.

Risks and challenges
This is a LOW-RISK project. Issue 2 is complete and ready to go to print, as are all of the rewards.
In addition, you can be confident we will be back to finish this series. Work on Issue 3 is already well underway, and the artists on issues 4 and 5 are ready to start drawing. We just need YOU to help us cross that finish line.
There are bound to be risks and challenges with any endeavor, but I’ve done everything I can to mitigate these risks. I've run a Kickstarter before, and all rewards were delivered in a timely manner. Barring printer error, we should be good to go.
I plan to give regular updates throughout the campaign and after, so if anything should happen to come up, you will be kept in the loop as we work to resolve it.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
