PLOT OUTLINE: Jason and his naive young sister Rebecca live in a post-apocalyptic world where the air is unbreathable, forcing them to wear gas masks and oxygen tanks whenever they go outside. The only remnants of the past have been recorded onto a video camera, which Jason receives during an archive clearance. Having never witnessed the outside world, Rebecca ignores her cautious brother's objections and, with the recordings on the camera to guide her, embarks on a dangerous journey through the city.
“Synchronized” is a short science fiction film written and to be directed by Matias Shimada, who is majoring in film and television production at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Producing the film along with Shimada is Stephen Kaiser-Pendergrast. We will be going into production in April 2011, in New York City. The screenplay has already been written, and we are currently in the process of securing our cast, assembling our crew, and scouting locations.
With your support, we will be able to purchase and rent the necessary equipment to shoot our film, secure locations in New York City, buy set decoration materials and props, and make sure our cast and crew is well-fed and taken care of on set. Once the movie is complete, we will try to submit it to as many film festivals as we possibly can.
We’re at a stage in the filmmaking process where we need to know if we’ll be able to financially bring this project to life. We have a vision for this project and it would be awesome for “Synchronized” to become a reality. The more donations we receive, the better equipment we’ll have, the better locations we’ll have, the better our art direction will be, and most of all, the more amazing our film will be.
