I am currently working on a new blues/jazz CD. I am a prolific composer and usually complete 2 songs per week. To keep costs down I do my own recording and play most of the instruments - I would like to add a singer and some horns on this project and will need to hire musicians to record. I would also like to have this professionally mastered to give it the cleanest sound quality - $$. Following completion of the CD I am planning on using a PR service to write a press release and distribute thru their service - $$. I have a channel for distribution for
itunes and digital sites - I would also like to make physical CD's to have available at my gigs. Many radio stations and critics like to have a hardcopy CD as well.
This requires me to have cover artwork created and of course, the cost to DiscMaker - the least expensive and most professional company to manufacture the CD.
The music, reviews, the website & performances all work together in the rebuilding process.
The performances require me to hire musicians, make sure all equipment is up to speed, transportation & travel costs, and general living expenses while on the road. I have committed 30 years of my life to this profession - I've experienced the highs and lows it has to offer. I believe my music is the reason I was put on this earth - I have entered a new creative cycle that is incorporating all of my styles jazz, classical, blues & rock. I love music. There is something for everyone to enjoy!
