We are raising funds to start curbside commingled recycling in Tillamook. We hope to raise funds by offering our backers custom recycle cow bumper stickers, shirts, and blue recycle carts. If this project funds we will ship out or deliver the bumper stickers, shirts, and carts in June of 2016. The stickers are already in production and we have demos in hand. The shirts are ready to be printed. Blue roll carts with the recycle cow logo are 4 to 6 weeks in production once we know how many people want them. Hopefully we will start providing curbside commingled recycling as an option for customers in the City of Tillamook and the urban growth boundary sometime after June of 2016. The money raised in this campaign will go directly to the making of new bumper stickers, shirts, and roll carts. Funds will also help purchase equipment to start curbside commingled recycling.

The team at City Sanitary Service is excited to provide all the services that our customers want and help save valuable natural resources by increasing recycling opportunities. You can also always come to our recycle depot at 2303 11th St. and recycle any time Monday - Friday from 8 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm.
Risks and challenges
City Sanitary Service has been in the solid waste industry over four generations. Our family started picking up trash in horse drawn wagons and has evolved with the changing times. We have the experience and know how to deal with any recycling need or market change. We have trucks, drivers, and all the correct permits to do the job right. We just need funds to purchase carts or have our customers purchase carts to provide the service. We would like extra funds to offset the high equipment costs needed to implement curbside commingled recycling. Tillamook is a rural county with residents that have tight budgets. We hope to purchase new carts for our customers with some of the money raised on Kickstarter. Offsetting the high start up costs for a new program will help make it successful and including the public in the program will keep them excited about recycling.
Recycling markets change rapidly and could potentially close due to factors outside our control. We want to be ready for this and keep the public involved and updated. We also want people to recycle the correct items and have easy access to correct and current information on recycling and what to put in their commingled recycling cart. We think Kickstarter is a great way to do this.
