At Alva Rides we’re a group of gadget lovers who want to make riding around the city fun and easy. Our first product, the Reflex, is a revolutionary ride.
Our story started back home in the cities we live in: New York, Montreal and London. We understand first hand the various transportation challenges that residents face every day in cities around the globe. We all agreed that we wanted to find a way to make transportation easier.
After searching and testing over 50 different products, we couldn’t find anything that was both sleek and affordable. Oversized bikes were difficult to carry; electric scooters were uncomfortable and couldn't handle hills; electric skateboards were dangerous and not suitable for long distances. We designed the Reflex to be a convenient, safe, affordable and fun experience. Perfect for the morning commute, grabbing a bite to eat on the other side of town, heading out to a ball game, or any event in between.
The Reflex is the first portable electric transport for use with public transportation and ride-share services that is specifically designed so users easily save time, energy and money.
The Reflex uses a special Street Cushion Tire not used in other electric scooters or electric bikes. It’s compact structure is paramount for easy storage, manoeuvrability, and its ability to withstand bumps and uneven roads.
The Reflex uses a custom Rear Brake which delivers instantaneous emergency stops and easily maintains control down steep hills.
Most Electric bikes use cheap no name batteries to cut costs and save on materials. We selected the best in class 8.7AH Samsung Battery that is more reliable, will get you farther, and maintain quality over time.
Our mission is to make city transportation fun, green and available for everyone to enjoy. To achieve this, we need to make sure we are there for you after your purchase.
We know how it feels to receive little or no support after buying something and don't want our supporters or backers to experience anything of the sort. This is why we have setup a dedicated customer service team to respond promptly to all your inquiries and resolve any potential issues as quickly as possible. As a special Thank You to our kickstarter backers your customer service requests will always automatically go to the top of the queue and any small issues will be handled right away. After all, none of this is possible without you.
Proudly designed and tested across the Atlantic, this is by no means a prototype like you might find on other Kickstarter Campaigns. We have a road-ready ride waiting to be assembled by experienced engineers.
Where is your money going?
We understand the frustration of products that never come out or have huge delays. We want and expect you to hold us to our word; so when our next product is developed we are more than a name, but a brand you can trust. The schedule we provide is honest and truthful and comes from small scale production runs that we have already completed without any issue.
We’ve partnered with multiple suppliers to source best in-class components and we have everything in place to build the bikes. Your donations will go directly into our first large scale production run; of which the first batch of up to 300 bikes will ship within 60 days of our goal being reached.
Risks and challenges
We take the possible risks and challenges of manufacturing a quality product very seriously. This is why we have teamed up with proven manufacturers and product partners who we trust and have worked with before.
We have worked tirelessly to solve all the issues that plague other Kickstarter projects, from failure to deliver a product, to long delays before shipment. We have taken the time to generate an honest and accurate timeline. We have ridden the Reflex all over the world to make sure you get the same product that we have come to love.
We will communicate every step of our journey with our backers and will ensure we are completely transparent throughout the process. We will reach our goals, as promised.
We look forward to making your Alva Ride Revolutionary!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
