Have a question?
@derek Thanks! Ohhhh I have some competing ideas. I'd likely want to license/partner with a designer the next go-around just because the design process took so much time on 1750 and I'd probably want to focus more on overall project execution and the publisher aspects of it. I also go back and forth on whether I'd want to pursue something historic or something that may be a little more mass appeal. Then I'll think about a couple other concepts that are ancillary to the tabletop market that are also interesting to me.... in any event I am very busy at the moment with life and other jobs so I will keep weight options moving forward :) Thanks! -Jason
Any new games on the horizon? 1750was excellent.
Hi Viktor- I have some tracking details that I will email you about. Thanks! -Jason
I have recently discovered that I have still not received my game despit a lot a people getting it in August. Is this normal or was my packet lost somewhere?
Thank you very much sir!!!
@Jason -- what the heck, I also just posted a 5-star review for you on Amazon. Your game deserves it!
@Jason -- I know you asked for Amazon, but I went over to BGG and rated you a 10 along with a comment explaining why.
@Jason It was delivered late on Friday and I got to play on Sunday night. W00t.
@Lembit thank you very much sir :)
The game looks fantastic. Very evocative of the period. I have read the rules and am trying to set up a time for a ftf this week. Well done Jason!!
My son called me to let me know the game arrived today. Looking forward to seeing it tomorrow when I get back home.
Received my shipping notice for Edmonton! Yay!
@Jason I got my notification as well. Super Jazzed to see this thing. I have to wait until next Tuesday though. Boo!
I received a shipped notification from Snakes and Lattes with tracking information this afternoon. Expected delivery is tomorrow, WOOOO HOOOO!!!!
Thanks for the update. Unless they mail mine in the morning (mail from Toronto takes 1 day to get to me), I won't see it until Monday then most likely (Canada Post doesn't deliver on weekends), Appreciated Jason.
Lembit and Scott- Just to keep you posted Snakes tells me they are shipping the games out tomorrow. Thanks!
Hey again @Jason! Great explanation of the shipping issues, and no worries. I know I'll get it at some point, but I just keep longingly looking at my mailbox when I come home from work, hoping, heh. Will you let us know when Snakes moves things along?
@Randy good deal- hope you enjoy it!
Arrived last week in great shape. Love, love the art. Can't wait to play!
@Lembit/Scott I think the missing piece for me... at least this go-around (I would certainly hope to improve in the future) is how to do so in a cost effective fashion with ship/ground freight. By leveraging Amazon and shipping to Snakes inside of the U.S., the freight is still an amount that's not completely crazy. With my freight forwarder, it was like a grand to have another unique destination directly from China. So (to answer Scott's question) to fulfill 19 copies I'd be spending like 50 dollars a piece just on freight, not including the fulfillment costs or manufacturing costs or anything else. I have heard of... in the case of PGM, an offer to ship to multiple destinations without an increase in freight costs that are anything along the lines of what I described above. So I don't know if they're absorbing that into their manufacturing costs or how they can do that. I will publish some sort of retrospective related to all of my shipping costs after all of the fulfillment is complete to share how this all shook out and solicit feedback. Definitely interested in improving. Right now my gut tells me that the air mail campaign may have (surprisingly) turned out to be the best solution out of the mix of things I did on the campaign. Anyway- that's probably TMI... I will keep pushing Snakes to get these into your hands- I am excited to get them to you and want you to have them as soon as possible. I also provided Snakes with all of the dimensions (for them to secure packaging/boxes that are the right size) and address files such that they should be in position to ship these very quickly.
Ah, so their custom's broker has the games on the US side of the border (along with all other games they are ordering from the USA and is transporting the lot into Canada today. I used to work for a Canadian Games distributor and am aware of this method). I would suggest that if you perform another KS, that you have the freight company not route the Canadian games from China through the USA, but directly to a Canadian distributor (Only one set of customs delay [and payments] to work with then).
@jason Roughly how many Canadian fulfillments do you have? I know it's totally out of your hands, but we canucks can't wait to get our mittens on this game!
@Lembit nothing from them for a couple of days now- I will follow up with them again here. My overall sense of the timeline with them is that they were bringing the games into Canada this week, so I am trying to push them to ship by next week.
@derek I'm glad you and your son are enjoying it- thanks!
Hi Jason, any response from Snakes and Lattes about their shipping of the Canadian shipments? They've had the games for 8 days now.
@jason My son and I have played the game. We both love it! Look forward to backing your next game
@Scott I sent Snakes a follow up email this morning to get status from them. No shipments so far so there are no tracking numbers yet.
Has anyone in Canada seen their package yet? Should we have tracking details?
Received my reward here in San Diego, California, thanks!
I think this KS is the biggest board game surprise of 2017 for me, so far at least. I signed on for the theme and am hooked by the elegant gameplay.
@Lembit I will keep on them to get them shipped!
@Daniel thank you very much- I am glad you are enjoying it!
@Denis Thank you
Thanks for the update about delivery to Snakes an Lattes Jason. They are a pretty good group and should be processing the orders quickly. I expect the game will be delivered by Canada Post sometime next week, Looking forward to getting it,
I played my first game last night with my regular gaming buddy, and we were both extremely impressed. The game plays very well, is very thematic, and we could tell that it had a great deal of depth that would be rewarded by repeat plays. The replayability is greatly enhanced by the sheer number of history and colony cards, and we really liked the number of variants you could choose to play with, or not. Our game lasted just over an hour, I think, but time flew by as we were both sucked into the game and found it easy to role-play as the two opposing powers. I am enormously impressed by the design, and it has obviously been a labour of love for Jason, and this is apparent by the quality of the components as well as the quality of the game itself. Highly recommended, and very pleased with my investment.
Game arrived today in France, perfect condition. Tha package was nicely done and the game well protected.
Components look very nice, thanks Jason.
@Walter yeah it has been a little surprising to me... I don't know if their multi-channel fulfillment services are subpar compared to FBA shipping services, or if it's an issue across the board.
@Jason, my game arrived in great shape, but the box was partially crushed on the top. There was some paper stuffed over the game box, but I'd guess they used whatever boxes were on hand rather than pick ones that actually fit the contents.
@Rich I will certainly keep an eye out for any questions and answer on BGG :)
Asked a question on Boardgamegeek...no answer in 17 hours. We need to start driving some discussion there - generate some interest for the longer term...
@Punisher Thank you very much sir!
@David yes they are not winning any points with me at the moment. Looks like the vast majority of copies are arriving in good condition, but just the overall way they are packaged is...well, I would think Amazon would be doing a much better job, I'll just say that.
This game is so freakin good.
My copy arrived.
FYI: Terrible packaging. It looked like the box from Ace Ventura. Luckily the game was acceptable. I would not recommend using the company you selected to ship again.
Wow, @Jason . . . it's gorgeous.
Can't wait to play it.
@Lembit The shipment to Snakes arrived yesterday. They have the importing records and shipping file from me, so I believe that I have done everything I can from my end to get them shipped. I will keep following up with them to get them shipped as soon as possible.
@Daniel Thank you very much!
