About this project
If you missed the Kickstarter campaign, we are accepting pre-orders for the 1750: Britain vs. France Card Game on our website:
1750: Britain vs. France is a 2-player card-based strategy game, using dice and cards to fight for control of colonies around the world. One player plays as Britain and the other plays as France, trying to outwit their opponent to decide the outcome of this struggle. Each turn, you'll attempt to influence other world powers, deploy military units to attack and defend colonies, and play historic event cards that provide powerful short-term and long-term benefits. 1750 features the fantastic artwork of painters from this era. The game is mid-level complexity (ages 14+ is recommended) and lasts about 45 minutes.
Play historic event cards at decisive moments to turn the tide of battle, destroying enemy units and influencing dice rolls. - All cards in 1750 feature the amazing paintings from this era:
Recruit generals and admirals from the 7 Years' War (French and Indian War) and the War of the Austrian Succession, and send other military forces to take colonies by force:

We have already covered a lot of the costs of graphic design, but can't move forward with the project without your help. In addition to helping make 1750: Britain vs. France a reality, here are some great reasons to back now:
- Game MSRP of $45 means that backers at the $29 level will save significantly. Backers at higher levels should still be close to MSRP while enjoying the benefit of airmail shipping directly to them.
- Metal coins Add-On is a Kickstarter excusive.
- This game's distribution is likely to be very limited- we do not expect to print many copies beyond this print run.
- You will be the first to own this game. No copies will be sold via any other medium until the Kickstarter games have shipped to you.
I'm Jason Huffman, creator of 1750. I have loved history my entire life. I can remember picking up a book about these wars from my library when I was a child and it totally capturing my imagination. I have also loved playing tabletop games my entire life. Battle Hardened Games is my effort to combine my love of history with my love of gaming. I will be using two methods of shipping for 1750. For the ground shipping reward level ($29) I will be using Fulfillment by Amazon and other fulfillment services to ship 1750 to backers inside of the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and France. Only backers from these countries are eligible for this level. Games will be shipped to backers inside these countries from fulfillment centers in these countries.
The $39 reward level is for airmail. Airmailed games will be mailed directly from China. Everyone is eligible for this level. If you are a customer in the U.S., U.K., or France, you are welcome to select the airmail rewards level and have copies of the game sent to you via airmail instead of ground shipping. The cost is higher but you will receive your copy of the game sooner- it's totally up to you. If you are ordering more than one copy you can save more in total shipping cost with the ground shipping option.
These games will be shipped in a "customs friendly" way as they will be marked as "Kickstarter rewards" on any customs forms using the manufacturing cost as the commercial value of the game. This means that backing the game should avoid increased fees or VAT for most, if not all, internationals backers.
I definitely appreciate your interest and would love to have you carry 1750 in your store! I have tried to discount the game significantly at the Monarch (10 units) level, but feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or proposals.
Risks and challenges
My intent is to get 1750 into your hands as quickly as possible. There are of course risks in terms of production delays and delays in shipping the product.
My manufacturer is facilitating the majority of shipping and I will use Amazon for fulfillment. From my perspective, the manufacurer's involvement with shipping helps mitigate the complexity of getting games to you. The size and reliability of Amazon should also reduce some of the risks of getting the fulfillment done quickly and efficiently.
Above all else, my promise is to work with a sense of urgency and to tenaciously deal with any issues that arise. I will remain open and keep you updated throughout this process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
