Introducing Light Chasers- Issue #1, the over-sized debut comic by best selling author Mike Slade.
What are people saying about Light Chasers? Check this out!
"I can't say enough about this project. I only back what I fully believe in and I wholeheartedly believe you should back it, too!
Some kids are just born different. Those differences are hard to hide, even at birth. Think of how society treats people who look different. How would they react if these babies were being born that not only look very different, but also have super human powers as well? Light Chasers was created to tackle these issues, create discussions by getting people talking, and challenge the way we treat and react to things we don't understand." -Allison Vaughn
What would the world actually be like if super powered people started popping up? What if they all had some kind of physical marker where we could identify them at a glance?
How would humanity react and treat them? How would they react in return?
Inspired by 1980s and 1990s X-men comics where acceptance and societal/political pressure shaped the landscape of the heroes lives, Light Chasers tackles these same issues in a modern setting with a fresh and realistic perspective.
In Light Chasers, a cosmic event triggers these changes in individuals across the globe seemingly at random. Referred to as the "Sun-Kissed", they are in a constant battle just to live normal lives as politicians and ideologues continually paint them as threats to humanity.
The Light Chaser universe kicks off right here with Light Chasers #1, a single issue comic book which will begin the story of our team of heroes, introducing them (and their special abilities) to each other.
If the Light Chasers had a leader, it would be Jade.
Headstrong and calculating, Jade strives in finding the solution to any problem. She is the driving force behind the Light Chasers standing up to the intolerance and bigotry that the Sun Kissed face.
Nicky is shy and lacks confidence in anything he does, which is the biggest determent to him unlocking his own potential. His natural athleticism and profound new powers would open up the world for him, if only he could find a way to believe in himself.
The rock and moral compass of the group. Oba was raised by motivated parents to be the best at everything he does and to never give up. He is the flag-bearer and most level headed of the Light Chasers.
A special reward level that I wanted to explain some is the Comic Logic Drink & Draw event.

You may want to consider picking up two of these vouchers- I can say from experience that the Drink & Draw events make an amazing date night.
Mike's writing career debuted with the Science Fiction novel Omega Children in 2013. Beginning a new position in support of the U.S. Government, and welcoming his third child in 2014, Mike strayed from writing besides as a hobby. Light Chasers is his first comic endeavor after being a lifelong fan of comic books.
Mike is also the founder and main administrator for the facebook community Uncanny Comics & More.
Mike lives near Washington, DC with his wife Suzie, children Eva, Xavier, and Alicia, as well as their temperamental cat Loki.

Risks and challenges
Light Chasers is coming down to the finish line of completion.
The script and initial art panels are complete and we're just down to coloring the rest of the pages, finalizing the setup, then off to the printer we go! But that will ONLY happen if we can get this project funded.
So where do the funds that you help with go for this project?
The price of funding this Kickstarter will cover the cost of paying the artists for their pencil/line work, inking, colors, and lettering for all of the pages and covers- and then to go towards the printing and shipping costs of your orders. Period.
Anything brought in after the funding goal of $3500 (after printing and shipping) will go directly towards the production costs of Issue #2.
