What is RABBITcharger?
We believe that phone and tablet chargers should be as inspired as the devices that they charge and that charging should be easy and reliable. That is why we created RABBITcharger.
We have grown accustomed to losing messy charging cables and have come to expect that we will lose our chargers to friends, siblings, children, colleagues, etc. RABBITcharger is the first charger that secures to any standard duplex outlet, has a retractable charging cable that gets rid of clutter, and has swappable charging tips for Android and iOS devices. Better still, it can simultaneously charge two devices with one cable while delivering up to 2.4 amps to each charging tip. That's plenty of power for even the biggest phones and tablets!
Patent-pending RABBITcharger eliminates forever the question of who took your charger or where you left it last. Since RABBITcharger is an all-in-one charging station that secures to any standard duplex outlet, there is no more carrying around charging cables or adapters or wondering where you left them. Once you install your RABBITcharger, you will have everything you need, when you need it. And there is no clutter with RABBITcharger's retractable cable!
- Installs in seconds to any standard duplex outlet
- Retractable 28" charging cable
- Dual micro-USB charging tips and (2) swappable iOS-compatible charging tips capable of delivering up to 2.4 amps to each charging tip.
- LED perimeter light indicates when RABBITcharger is charging a device.
Not only did we want RABBITcharger to be convenient and easy to use, but it also had to be safe, quick, and simple to install. There is no electrical expertise required to install RABBITcharger. It only takes 15 seconds to install!
First, remove the cover plate screw from your standard duplex outlet while leaving the cover plate in place. Then, plug in RABBITcharger, install its screw, and snap on the RABBITcharger cover plate. Now, you're ready to start charging your devices!
Whether you have a horizontal or vertical outlet, whether the ground is up or down on your outlet, RABBITcharger installs into any standard duplex outlet no matter its orientation.
What type of outlets can be used with RABBITcharger?
RABBITcharger is compatible with any standard duplex outlet. While we will be expanding the range of outlets into which RABBITcharger can be installed, the current model is not compatible with decor or Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlets. In short, if your outlet looks like this one, then your house is ready for RABBITchargers.
In order to ensure that we would be using the highest quality parts and slimmest cables available, we conducted tests on dozens of cables. Our cables need to withstand a number of retractions, and the slimmest cables allow RABBITcharger to extend as far as possible without creating a bulky device.
The cable that won was a cable that withstood over 15,000 retraction cycles before we stopped the test! It didn't ever fail or break during testing; we just had to move on to other tasks!
After completing our engineering and design work, we started prototyping to ensure that the look, feel, and function of RABBITcharger reflected our demanding vision. After a few tweaks and a few prototypes, we are ready to start manufacturing.
We are ready to start manufacturing as soon as the Kickstarter campaign concludes! To ensure that we could move seamlessly into manufacturing, we have already released Tooling, which is essentially the construction of the molds for each of the parts and pieces that go into RABBITcharger. You won't be waiting around long to receive your RABBITcharger!
Even more importantly than being able to deliver RABBITcharger quickly, safety has remained our highest priority. RABBITcharger will be tested and receive its UL Listing at the factory to ensure that it meets the highest standards for safety.
When you back our Kickstarter, you will receive a RABBITcharger that has (2) built-in micro-USB charging tips PLUS (2) swappable iOS compatible charging tips. In addition, a RABBITcharger screw comes with each unit so that you can install it quickly and safely into your standard duplex outlets.
Whether you currently charge your devices in your dining room, bedroom, kitchen, office or living room, having RABBITcharger at each of these locations will make it more convenient, and you will always have a free outlet for all of your other stuff. The more RABBITchargers you get, the more you save! Get one for every room... give them as gifts!
We are launching a Kickstarter campaign to help fund our first round of manufacturing. You have the right to know how your hard-earned cash is being used when you back our Kickstarter. Below is a summary of how we intend to allocate your funds in order to make this project a success.
