Overview: The Blue Eyes Anomaly is a minimalist, 2D side-scrolling, boss rush game. The game will feature 5 unique areas with 20 total bosses. The Blue Eyes Anomaly is being constructed in Game Maker Studio 2.

In depth Game Mechanics, Lore, Plans and Possibilities: The game concept started around being a puzzle platformer with a 2D souls-like feel to it, however, as I began boiling down the story, mechanics, art etc. it became evident that these genres wouldn't do it justice. Therefore the aim switched, coming more into a boss rush genre. For those unfamiliar with the term, 'Boss Rush' is when a game places a large focal point on bosses, in the case of The Blue Eyes Anomaly, there are no standard enemies, each enemy is a boss. There are no puzzles, no minor enemies, or checkpoints (bosses will stay dead). It's completely linear, there is no moving up or down to any degree. This allows for bosses and art to be the main, and, only features.

The player has 5 abilities all unlocked from the outset of the game. Light Attack, Teleport, Heavy Kick, Sword Lance and of course the ability to never stay dead for too long. The player's name is Wilton, a born Anomaly, like many others in his world. Wilton stands 2.75m (9ft) tall, and is donned with pale blue skin and long tied black hair. He contains many anomaly abilities, including one to defy death. As a being with great potential, Wilton is considered a threat by many nations, and has now been imprisoned on a small island, with many guards, of many kinds. Intelligent, bloodthirsty and powerful, all kinds were taken to this island, to guard Wilton and the other undying ones from ever causing problems to the balance of their perishable world. Wilton will not stop, no matter how many times they kill him and throw him back to the centre of the island, he will keep persisting, until none remain in his path to freedom.

The Blue Eyes Anomaly is planned to have AT LEAST 5 areas and 20 bosses, 4 per area, this number however may increase overtime (it won't drop below that however). The currently planned areas take form of: A Willow Forest, An Autumn/Fall Grove, A Winter Land, A Marsh Land and A Kingdom. It is possible for the number of areas and bosses to increase, or for free dlc in the future, however these are only possibilities.

Info About The Demo: There is a demo available to anyone interested. This demo is NOT what will definitely be included in the final game, nothing seen here is finalised and is subject to change. This is more of a tech demo, showing primitive player mechanics and interactions. Don't worry, bosses will be more complex than the simple Wardens Blade shown in the demo.

Controls: Left/Right (D-Pad Left/Right) = Move.  Space (X) = Light Attack.  Control (B) = Teleport.  Alt (Y) = Heavy Kick.  Shift (A) + (Left or Right) = Sword Lance.  Esc = Quit (menu only) or Instant Death (game only).

So Why The Need For Funds?: There are a surprising amount of things needed to create a game, outside of the obvious coding, art etc. These come as mainly publishing and copyright expenses. Any amount left over will be used to benefit the game with better art/animation, I am currently the one doing all of it, art and coding.

Risks and challenges

Working at a slow and steady pace can help negate any problems that arise. I've spent much time using and learning Game Maker and GML, so I do not foresee any obvious problems on that front. Any problems that do arise however will be addressed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
