About this project
The aim of this project is to produce a new Sci-Fi range of 28mm white metal civilian and non-combatant miniatures for collectors and for use in RPGs and tabletop wargames. The full set of the range will comprise 19 (nineteen) metal miniatures, shown at this page.
The figures have been sculpted by Igor Karpov
PLEASE NOTE: The miniatures are not a toy and not recommended for children under 14 years. The miniatures may contain lead which may be harmful in case of chewing or swallowing. All miniatures are supplied unpainted.
The pale stars cast their light upon a distant future. Earth of old, mankind’s cradle, is no more – perished in a terrible cataclysm caused by the invasion of a warlike alien species. Just in the nick of time, though, a few hundred starships managed to escape, carrying the huddled survivors of the human race. With the merciless aliens in pursuit, they scattered throughout space, desperately searching for a new home. Rather than being mere “ships”, the craft were actually enormous habitats, designed to provide refuge and sufficient living conditions for thousands of humans.
Many ships were destroyed in the escape, hunted down by their alien pursuers – but some managed to escape, cleared the Solar System and made their way in other regions of our galaxy. The survivors were desperate, but unbroken, and thus they embarked on their quest for the salvation of mankind.
Centuries have passed. Some of the ships chanced upon habitable planets, making landfall and founding colonies; others were lost in no-quarter battles against the alien menace or space pirates. And then there are the remainders – ships still cruising through the eternal cosmos.
One of these titanic craft is the starship Astropolis, one of the largest and oldest of the Terran fleet. Built in the early days of space travel, the passage of time has rendered her an old-fashioned, if not obsolete relic, and yet a steadfast fortress of the human survivors. In a fashion, the good ship Astropolis is more a flying city than just a mere space vessel.
Nobody knows the exact number of humans aboard; mere hours before take-off, hordes of people, desperate to escape, stormed the boarding ramps and barricaded themselves within the deep bowels of the ship. Thousands strong, they resisted the attempts of Military Command to evict them and cleanse the ship; since the alien threat left no option but immediate launch, this stalemate remained in force. To this day, some areas of the ship are inaccessible, ruled by the banished ones, the Outlaws.
Following uncounted days in space, the ship faces new technical problems on a daily basis. Many of the engines and apparatus are no longer working properly, or have failed by now. Others require constant repairs.

Spares and replacements have to be crafted by those still skilled enough for the trade, using raw materials and parts scavenged from other parts of the ship, using the most basic tools to make the more critical components run for another day, another month, another year.
Parts of the ship were contaminated by ruptured tanks and exploding machinery, and are inaccessible except when wearing protective equipment. Therefore, the engineering department of the Astropolis can justifiably be called the most crucial part of the ship’s crew.
Over time, the Astropolis encountered inhabited planets and operational ships, home to other humans and alien races. Some of these ventured aboard the Astropolis, among them traders, scientists, technicians, spies – and some adventurous voyagers. Step by step, the ship’s population came to be a motley bunch of bizarre individuals from the furthest reaches of the galaxy.
As the chronometers toll the new day aboard ship, the Astropolis unceasingly plows through space, always searching for a space dockyard to berth for repairs, a trading port to replenish supplies, and the most elusive goal of all, a place to call home.

Risks and challenges
Risk is minimal. We are an experienced miniatures company who have operated successfully for more than five years and are well-known for our reliability. As illustrated by the pictures, the figures have already been sculpted. The master moulds are being already in production. If this project is funded, we can immediately initiate creation of the production moulds, so that we will be able to commence the initial production run right after completion of the Kickstarter. Based on previous experience with our suppliers, we expect the first miniatures to be delivered six to eight weeks following completion of the campaign. This means that you may already receive your figures as early as November, December 2016 at the latest. In any case, we will continuously publish updates on progress and project steps and milestones.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
