The dark overlord
Command line killers
Lord of the Pings
Oh boy, I have a ton of names that I'd like to use. But my players always remember Digitusk, precisely because it's a horrible pun. The guy was a warthog hybrid hacker who was waaaay too wound-up for his own good.
Icepicks (known for their signature way of finishing off enemies)
Spin Doctors (actually a group of rogue medical personnel who can be had for the right price)
11 (Known for con schemes that can bankrupt a business, aka Chapter 11)
High Rollers (selling drugs & hosting illegal gambling is a hell of a combination)
Blurs (Their founder claimed they were "too fast to catch," but after so many arrests it's an ironic nickname)
Rainbow Unicorns (founded to protect a poor part of town with lots of kids who were being harassed by dealers; inspired by Bikers Against Child Abuse)
A name for a Streetsam that was oddly fitting even though it came from one of the Snacks:
- Chunky Salsa (Alternative Spelling was Junkie Salsa).
I think it took us 3 or 4 sessions until we noticed where the player got the name from.
LANshark, Local Area Network Shark
\Bob - Read as "Backslash Bob"
GoTo - as in "Go To 10", also as in the name "Goto"
Baud-dacious (older hacker)
Name of a character I ran last time I got to do cyberpunk, and my table hopes to see them as an NPC when I run something again.
Great names everyone!
Robin_Hacker_SJW (Social Justice Warrior)
ICE_BREAKERS (hacker gang)
Occam, just Occam, let everyone figure out the razor part . . .
Actually, that is really good, I'm realizing as I write this. The character assuming this name is implying that they are the simplest solution to your problems.
Mr. Pickle. He's like the guy from Pulp Fiction that get's the party out of a "pickle" but only at at a crazy expensive price or for a return favor side mission.
ISCA (The LARGEST student run BBS in the WORLD! Check it out. Iowa Student Computer Association)
I played a cyberpunk character for years called Lunumbra.
A contraction of Lunar and Umbra, so, Moon Shadow.
Gang/Runner - Silicon Slave or Slaves
Sanction, DarQ, Sthiel (Pronounced Steel)
Cool stuff! Keep 'em coming!
TrumptyDumpty - A sysop that relies too much on code walls.
CAD (short for Control + Alt + Delete)
Nanobytes: A roving gang of small people that deal in black market military hardware.
Annabelle Nora Nymous
Sam (or anything similar with just one syllable. Some people just don't need a special name to advertise their services)
Neon City Apocalypse
I've been pulling the least-racistest and least-grossest names from The YOSPOSest Cyberpunk Names We Got on and off for a while:
Here's some good ones:
Ping The Merciless
Eudora The Explorer
They might be members of:
The Insane Chown Posse
DA MYSTERY OF CHESSDOXIN or
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Final Fantasy X-2
For a shadowy patron who only communicates through electronic voice or text and may have divergent goals than the PCs: $subject (just pronounced "Subject").
Example, "Subject wants us to insert a disinfo shills routine into the Recursives community chat, then wait for further instructions. This is going to be interesting...."
Mari Molotov/Molotov Mari
I frequently use this site for random name generation: fantasynamegenerators.com.
They have a lot more than just fantasy names though. For instance, they have a generator dedicated to Hacker Names: http://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/hacker-names.php
This site is great for getting some ideas to build from for new names.
Synthia (Syn for short)
Becky Blackout (or Blacklight)
The Office Pool
FTL (Fairlight Transmission Labs)
Smok and Myrrhh
NPC - Maelstrom
Gang - Chain Janes
Name generation tables would be dope!
Here are a few randos off the top of my head...
Bran Flakes (pronounces “Bron Flock-es”)
One I use from time to time: Zer()
Properly pronounced "Zer", but frequently pronounced "Zero". the empty parentheses are an "empty set", a placeholder, a thing that is there but has no content.
That's a certainly a possibility!
Especially cool would be some name generation tables.
