Interface Zero 2.0 & Achtung! Cthulhu Cross-Genre Supplement Announced!

Hi everyone, as promised, here's a major update!

Modiphius Entertainment & GunMetal Games have announced a surprise bonus for backers of the Achtung! Cthulhu and Interface Zero 2.0 Kickstarters!

Backers of  either Kickstarter will receive a free bonus 120 page PDF book 'Achtung! Cthulhu - Interface 19.40' consisting of a 60 page adventure and 60 page supplement covering the early days of gene splicing experiments in the 1940's. Following the trail of sinister experiments on German soldiers to create the perfect fighting force, Allied agents and the German Abwehr military intelligence must unite to combat a far deadlier threat.

Delving into the backstory of Interface 2.0 pseudo science the supplement written by Gun Metal Games will explore the secret projects of both the Allies and the Third Reich to create a new breed of soldier as back story and plot ideas for Interface Zero 2.0. The Achtung! Cthulhu adventure written by Modiphius Entertainment will reveal the dark powers behind some of the experiments and the terrifying results when they are unleashed. The book will feature Savage Worlds stats and cross - over rules for both settings allowing players to experience each of these unique worlds.

The Achtung! Cthulhu Kickstarter can be found here:

Achtung! Cthulhu - Keepers & Investigator's Guide to the Secret War

Achtung! Cthulhu - Interface 19.40 will be available in Spring 2014 as a retail release from Chronicle City, and distributed free to backers of both Kickstarters.

In Interface Zero 2.0 players enter a dark and grimy world of corrupt, power mad government, greedy megacorporations and fringe science-gone-wild. You play ronin: rogue street operatives who make their living doing the things nobody else can, or will, do. You have no master, no loyalties beyond your bank balance. Your only friends are those of convenience. Your tools of the trade are computer code, high-powered weapons, combat drones, cybernetic augmentations, mental powers and maybe even a little bit of luck.

In Achtung! Cthulhu discover the secret history of World War Two - stories of the amazing heroism in which stalwart men and women struggled to overthrow a nightmare alliance of science and the occult, of frightening inhuman conspiracies from the depths of time, and the unbelievable war machines which were the product of Nazi scientific genius - and how close we all came to a slithering end! The Secret War has begun!

Archetypes are a tool which help give further nuances and social advantages to the roll you play in the setting of IZ. They won't give you things like Powers or straight up combat abilities, but they'll give you Niche protection for the role you want to play.

For one, they provide a Basis for "Common Knowledge" Rolls under the Savage World System. You're playing a Sector Cop? Well Good you can make Common Knowledge rolls for things like Police Procedure, knowing about the local gang signs and major criminal players in the city. Knowing which corp hires the Private Security that's competing with you and the like.

Then you'll get some social advantages for being that Sector Cop.
You'll have the ability to call for Backup, Requisition Equipment, and be Able to arrest people and the like.

Let's look at another example, an Investigative Journalist Archetype
Beyond Common Knowledge rolls to know gossip and rumors involving the power brokers of the setting, and things they might be getting up to... You might start with Extra contacts compared to other players... and get bonuses when it comes to ferreting out information that's being buried about individuals... Whether you're getting that info from Hacking personal files, or from talking to the Simulacrum Maid who serves the Family.

The Street Samurai might start with Extra Street Cred compared to everyone else.. due to Samurai being known for their code of Honor. Fixers trust them more, knowing they'll try to uphold their end of things. The Samurai might get a bonus on Bennie rolls when it directly involves something they've given their word on attaining.

A Bounty Hunter is going to get bonuses for tracking people down, those who want to not be found.. the Bounty Hunter will have ways of finding them..

These are ideas we're tossing around for the Archetypes.

You weren't rude at all, don't sweat the small stuff.

Achtung Cthulhu is built around the savage worlds engine, but will also be statted for Chaosium's system as well, so there will be full compatibility with Interface Zero.

Thanks for the info Gun Metal Games. Looking forward to that play-test document. BTW sorry if I came off rude. I just wondered what makes them different in the rules. Are they both good at combat or what?

    8. David Jarvis/Gun Metal Games 7-time creator on February 26, 2013

Hi Scott, this is primarily a sourcebook/adventure, but it's going to be designed for use with the guides and also as a supplement for Interface Zero.

    9. David Jarvis/Gun Metal Games 7-time creator on February 26, 2013

Otto: We'll be posting play test documents for the archetypes once we get them ready. They aren't edges, but they do have some edge-like effects built into them.

A gang banger is well, a gang member and a sector cop...well he's a cop.

    10. Scott Galliand on February 26, 2013

Will you require the two guides from the other Kickstarter to use it?

    11. Otto T M Tormented Ninja of the O-Order on February 26, 2013

A kickstarter team-up is a really cool idea I really look forward too reading the text, is the name of it really "Achtung! Cthulhu - Interface 19.40"? It wasn't 100% clear to me.

Also you guys keep on talking about archetypes but are you going to get into the crunch of how they work? Are they edges or something else? How is a gang banger different from a sector cop?

The art is really fukken great and the person that made them should feel really fukken great. (Sorry can't read your signature) One tiny criticism however, the gang banger's and hacker's gun look a bit weird. I'm not a gun expert they just look a a bit off to me.

    12. Mark Mealman on February 26, 2013

Ah, it's for backing either kickstarter. I thought it was a bonus if you backed both. I'm already a backer of Achtung, just not at their PDF Master Bonus(yet).

    13. Aaron Smith on February 26, 2013

      So was I sounds cool.

    14. Ian Tong on February 26, 2013

I was already backing both but this sounds interesting.

    15. David Jarvis/Gun Metal Games 7-time creator on February 26, 2013

Backing that kickstarter is your perogatiuve. You'll still get the pdf when we finish it because you've backed this kickstarter.

    16. Mark Mealman on February 26, 2013

Pretty cool. What backing level do you need to be at on the Achtung kickstarter?
